I'm surprised these changes have already been moved to production when CO Insider admitted that there are still bugs. I don't understand CO's IT group sometimes...

Flashback to the B-up to NRT!

Hartmann Dec 15, 2009 9:24 am

I have a BOS-IAH segment that I was offered to buy-up to first for $80. Of course I bit and now I kind of regret it.

When I first clicked the "Purchase and Select Seats" button I received an error message and was given a button to go back. I clicked it and was taken back to the purchase screen. Again, I clicked "Purchase and Select Seats" and received the same error.

I went and looked at the reservation and saw that I had been upgraded to fare class ZE but my earning percentage went to 0%. I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it double charged my card.

Co-pay to Mexico

Is there a reason why the website, under the "upgrade reservation" page, is stating that a mileage upgrade is 15,000 miles AND a $500 co-pay? I hope this is not a change in policy and is rather just a website bug. A big bug, at that.

I'm seeing the same for a trip to SFO ($150 copay). Copays for elites in non-BF markets are supposed to be waived, so it's yet another bug.

Additionally, when I select the option to pay up to first, I see no $ amount for the individual segments and I can't select an individual segment to upgrade. When I click on the upgrade button, I get the following error:

! We could not process your request. Please see the message below and make revisions.

! Please select individual flights to upgrade.
 It doesn't give me the option to select and individual flight to upgrade.

I can't for the life of me figure out why CO rolled this out when it's clearly not ready. :td:

I agree its one thing testing it on us as we agreed to check it out and take the risk but, why they moved it into release the only guess I can make is that they saw it as a major revenue boost and decided it was worth it.

I just looked at a flight from ORD-IAH-ACA and it showed a $500 in addition to 15,000 miles. As this is not a BusinessFirst flight this looks to be a mistake per the footnote in the PDF "* Upgrade co-pay applies for most discounted fares when travel is in BusinessFirst.".

Nice enhancement. I would sometimes buy M fares straightaway for the upgrade. Now I can wait and see if I get the comp elit upgrade, and if Z inventory starts to get low, buy the upgrade to M (or B/Y if necessary).

A new version of the Preview Site is available.

Looks likes some bug fixes and the DirecTV line-up are the main things.

Right off the bat there appears to be an HTML issue on the 'My Account' page.

for upgrade with miles, it says i have to pay a co-pay for an IAH-SLC trip.

Silk Feb 9, 2010 12:37 pm

I'm in the middle of the trip and the change flight option did not work. No "working" screen when the site was checking for flights.

Site running kinda slow.

There is a new feature in my account Tripfinder, but it is dead, already reported here.

Anyone else notice that the buy-up is gone? I checked both my wife's account and mine and it seems to have disappeared for both of us.

here for me on preview and production, so not something they removed, possibly unavailable on your booking?

15,000 miles + $100 copay each way....no thanks! (for domestic)
