Scott, can you give us an idea of what changes were made so we know what to test and look out for?

Responding to myself... :)

I jsut got an email that details the changes:

* Combine flight, car and hotel segments into one itinerary (Trip Plan) in "Manage Reservations." Note: During the preview period, reservations made on the preview site will only be viewable on the preview site and reservations made on continental.com will only be viewable on continental.com.
* Retrieve your car rental bookings (Alamo and National) made at continental.com when you are not signed in to your account.
* Standard Rewards renamed to SaverPass (on the Reward booking engine only). The new "SaverPass" name change will be reflected on the rest of the Web site following public release.
* Enjoy improved travel insurance options.

Calendar...

Still an issue. Slow and sluggish.

And the drop-down in that dialog doesn't actually change the month, which is the bug I reported.

on the email subscription page it would be nice to be able to add another email address to certain subscriptions, such as eua, so i can add my traveling companion to the notification list, like you have on the TripAlert page.

Looks like the preview site is live again. The email I got says the following:

Continental Airlines invites you to preview changes to continental.com prior to public release, scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 30, 2008.

Between now and Mar. 30, go to preview.continental.com to conduct all your normal Continental business. When using the preview site, look for the "Comments" link at the top right hand corner of each page to provide your feedback. Your comments will assist us in planning future developments.

Please have your OnePass Number/Username and PIN/Password ready to access the site.

Look for these select improvements when previewing the site:

* "Limited seats available" indicator on the flight search results page
* The ability to edit passenger name information on the "Payment Information" page of the flight booking path
* On-time performance is now shown while viewing the flight search results.
* You can now change your billing address country at the "Payment Information" page without starting over with the booking process.
* Book your flights using our new mobile booking Web site by entering continental.com using your Internet-enabled mobile device.

Thank you for your participation. Your feedback will be helpful as we make continued improvements to continental.com.

:( I tried to access it but I haven't been invited ...

It was in the email I received but where do you see it? I looked all over pda.continental.com and don't see it anywhere.

Yeah, I saw that but I just assumed it was redirecting to pda.continental.com. See, http://continental.com on my iPhone goes to the main continental.com site. I guess having a full featured browser can be good and bad. :)

I am very excited to see enhancements to the mobile site. I use a palm treo and this site seems to be working great for me. More than I could have ever asked for from co. The manage reservations section is just like it is on the full site, so when you are traveling and get the urge to upgrade yourself, you can just logon the mobile site and click “Upgrade Reservations Using Miles” if it’s available. I think this is truly great.

I will be traveling in a few days and will most likely need to purchase some tickets. I will defiantly give this a try and report on the ease of it.

The mobile site obviously now uses a little more data, just be cautions not to use it too much on your mobile device unless you have an unlimited plan

ADD: it still gives you a "print Itinerary" button which is not useful obviously.

why the heck do they give the preview 1 week before release... not nearly enough time!

Hartmann Mar 24, 2008 5:59 pm

On my Palm Treo I can't get the mobile reservations to show up. It looks like the standard site.

Hartmann Mar 24, 2008 6:13 pm

The "remaining seats at this price" is a cool feature.

The on-time performance doesn't show up for all destinations (most notably the international ones), but it's still cool.
