what is this feature, I am not seeing this at all. I've been searching o/w nyc-atl 9/9/08 and dont see this remaining seat feature
For 9/9, I think all flights have plenty of seats left at that price. |
I used the link in the email they sent me and got:
The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies. |
These are some great enhancements to the website and very useful. In my opinion, I think the following priority should be given to the infomation that is listed on the mobile site:
Also in my view the priority for the ordering of the mobile site should be as follows: 1 - Links for Current Reservations Needs (Things I need to make my travels easier today) - Booked Reservations - Check in For Flight - Flight Status - Current Hub Conditions - Change Existing Reservation - Presidents Club Locations - Upgrade Listing (when it goes active - THIS IS THE COOLEST FEATURE SINCE SLICED BREAD) - Aircraft Information 2 - Future Reservation Needs (Things I need to make my future Travel) - Making Reservations - Timetable Search - Aircraft Information - Airports Served - Ticketing Offices 3 - CO Information (Making sure my past travel is posted) - OnePass Account Information - Contact Numbers - Deals and Offers - Other Misc CO Information I sent a two page word doc but this was the highlight of the document. |
A couple of things that I encountered and my reactions.
In booking LGA – SEA for 6/2 with a 6/2 return: EVERY flight shows ‘limited seats’ including H and Y Fares. The seat maps indicate wide open F (for Y-ups) and 50% or so open seating on coach. This makes me tend to disregard the information. Flights CO1482 and 433 do not show ‘On-Time Performance’ . Is it missing data or is the performance record so bad that it would scare people off? I have sent these to the team. |
Preview site bugs
Anyone else try to use the new RSS feeds for the co.com specials or OnePass offers?
I can't use any of them in on my Yahoo page and the OnePass offers don't work in Google either. The co.com specials is an interesting idea, but they don't actually let you filter by city, so I'm going to be seeing all the AUS specials every week and none of the EWR ones in the feed. Anyone else have different (more successful) experiences with these? And, yes, I did report it to the Preview team. |
Had the same problem and also reported it. I tried it for Google
|
Both feeds create an error message in IE7 - 'Feeds with DTD's are not supported'
Also reported with screen shot. The following is from Microsoft RSS documentation in 2005. Feeds that reference a DTD are not supported by the RSS Platform. A DTD is used to help XML parsers with validation of the document. However, DTD validation is a potential source of security issues for XML parsers, and validation is not required for feeds to work correctly in aggregators. By removing the DTD reference, the feed can be processed by the RSS Platform and displayed to the user in the feed reading view. |
They could learn a thing or two from the Craigslist RSS feeds. Those work great with searches.

I just got an email saying the preview.continental.com site is back for another round of testing. Details below.
Look for these select improvements when previewing the site: * Shop for flights using a monthly calendar on the homepage or Advanced Flight Search page. Simply choose "My Dates are Flexible," choose a Begin Date and your length of stay and you will be presented with a month of fares for your city pair. Click on the fare to see a list of flights. * You can now search for an alternate airport up to 300 miles from your origin or destination. This option is available on the Advanced Search page. * When making a booking for a customer who requires oxygen, you can now make your booking at continental.com. Start your booking. * You may now print your OnePass Activity statement. |

I like the part of the e-mail that says, "When using the preview site, look for the "Comments" link at the top right hand corner of each page to provide your feedback. Your comments will assist us in planning future developments."
I don't think I will provide them with any comments considering the last comments I sent them about the previous sight were not fixed nor read. |

Of note: The fare calendar option is now a prominent part of the search. You can specify length-of-stay durations of 1-25 days in one-day increments, and then stays of 30, 60, 90, 120, or 180 days. Excellent!!!

The 300 mile radius is very useful. I live in Stillwater and TUL, OKC, ICT are all about the same for me and thus the ability to search all at once is nice.
I like the PDF of account information. I just wish CO would be able to give us access to all former information. I mean afterall I have a flight memory to fill in. :) I havent tried the monthly search but it should be useful as well. |
