Bug Report

THe following is my first bug report to the team. I anticipate more next week when I do my next OLCI's and flight changes.

------------------------------------------------

The functionality is great. Actually, it looks like you purchased at least some of the software from ITA.

If I do a 30 day search for either a specific Fare Class, such as H or click on the Full Fare button on the advanced screen, the returned screen continues to display the fares for the lowest (cheapest) flights available.

I got the new testing site message today as well, but in my case it's been 34 minutes and I'm still 'WAITING FOR HTTP://email.continental.......... :( Luckily I was able to 'test' it yesterday at the Marketing Research facility :)

Two comments...

1) When searching for airports within a certain distance range, I am only seeing quotes from my selected airport with the following message:

We searched nearby airports for a lower price, but we did not find a lower fare than $299

What I would prefer to see is the option to view a matrix, so I have the chance to compare - perhaps there is a flight from another airport which is a few dollars more, but that airport is more convenient for me - I'd like to at least be able to see the options.

2) I would like to see an option to choose the fare class for each direction. Right now, I can select a fare class for the entire trip, or a cabin for each direction. I would like to be able to select both a cabin and a fare class for each direction or segment of a trip.

Yes, the link in the email didn't work for me either. I had to cut and paste the url into a new window...

There is a matrix, but only when there are lower fares. I think I have seen the matrix before on regular CO.com. Like the flex search, it was buried on the site. I think I stumbled on it by accident.

I need to send this one in but I think that with the distance selection one should be able to put in a city that is not an airport city and have it do a search from there. This would be beneficial for people going and coming from small cities. In addition, does one have the ability to change there selection profile on CO.COM to a new search parameter. IE I would like to be able to search within 150 miles of OKC for all flights via my profile?

Also I like the new travel tabs on the account page for hotel and car rental. One tab that I think would be cool and beneficial would be a lounge tab. If CO could filter the lounges availiable for current PC holders or BF flyers for each flight and tell them which ones they have access to while flying a particular itinary that would be cool.

email link

Those of you who can't get the email link to work can go to preview.continental.com directly. I haven't found any bugs yet; but, it seems slow to me.

release delayed

Preview site is available for another week, as they have canceled the release for this weekend and moved it to 8/22. According to the email, there were "performance issues" with the 30 day fare calendar.

If by "performance issues", they mean "it didn't work in many use cases", then sure.

Someone at marketing is having some fun there...

Trip Plan Problems

I am having a problem trying to add a reservation to Trip Plan. I entered the conf # and last name and hit go, click save to my account, but it wont save. I sent in a bug report to co.com about it.

Has anyone received any sort of response from problems they have sent in via e-mail to the web product team?

Yes, I have, to one of two issues I reported. Seems to be sort of hit or miss, and even when they get back to you, it's mostly just a "yeah yeah, we'll look into it." Not sure if I really expect more, though.

Continental Airlines invites you to preview changes to continental.com prior to public release, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.

Between now and Nov. 15, go to preview.continental.com to conduct all your normal Continental business. When using the preview site, look for the "Comments" link at the top right hand corner of each page to provide your feedback. Your comments will assist us in planning future developments.

Please have your OnePassŪ Number/Username and PIN/Password ready to access the site. If you have forgotten your PIN, you may request it here.
  • Look for these select improvements when previewing the site:
  • View additional information about your flight (in-flight amenities, flight standby/upgrade lists and the seat map). This is similar to the functionality currently available at pda.continental.com/info.
  • Shop for flights using a monthly calendar on the Advanced Flight Search page. Simply choose "My Dates are Flexible," choose a Begin Date and your length of stay and you will be presented with a month of fares for your city pair. Click on the fare to see a list of flights.
  • The homepage flight search tab will remember your previous flight search criteria (From, To, Depart & Return Date/Time, Number of Adult travelers and cabin).
  • Several improvements during the change flight process in the Manage Reservations section
Thank you for your participation. Your feedback will be helpful as we make continued improvements to continental.com.

I wonder if this includes all the promised fixes to the rebooking engine. Now, if I only had an itin to change.
