She may not be personally familiar with snow, but surely she has heard the phrase "I'm snowed under" or "I'm snowed in" and understands what it means? At least with regard to one's workload?

I got a Kindle back in September/October (right around the price drop) and I love it. So much nicer to only have that in my bag versus several books for a trip. I'm a fast reader, so I can knock off a decent-sized novel (4-500 pages) on an ORD-west coast flight.

If you go with a Kindle + B&N eBooks, drop me a PM and I can walk you through the process to make the books readable on Kindle. Once you've got it setup, you can convert a book with a minute or two in front of the computer.

I may be taking you up on that offer, too!

Apparently, my wife has gone to cinema to see Sherlock Holmes (must be feeling homesick).

Young lady who works for us (Florida native) answered my wife's cellphone (as she correctly did not want to take it to the cinema, so left it at the office).

Young lady asked how I was. I said "fine, apart from being snowed in here".

She replied "sorry, I don't know what that means".

A few places got some sleet built up like snow on cars last weekend, and a few flakes here and there. First time in a long time as far as I know. And there was the frost that delayed some flights in TPA, SRQ and RSW til the "Mother Nature's De-Icing Service" came over the horizon and melted the frost.

I'm sorry about being completely obtuse with this, but I cannot get my signature to work. Thanks to CM I figured out the FM part, but now I can't get my signature to show on FT. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? Or can you not see your own signature?

Nice FM! Lots of pretty criss-crossy lines! :D

How does one do this, given the maximum contribution limits?

icurhere2 is a government employee who's eligible for two $16,500 contributions - 403(b) and 457 - and IRA. That's before all the other pre-tax deductions (and in addition to state retirement).

^^

I just don't get why only on 739s.

I have no clue where they are getting their stock from.
I think the reason they picked one type of aircraft is because they have to add seat pocket info about the new drinks for sale.

Networking is the main way to be honest. It wouldn't hurt to be on monster.com too. Many recruiters will only look on LinkedIn.com and judge a person on their profile there.

Perhaps you could be a guinea-pig and try out "The Ladders." Am curious to know whether it's worthless.

Ladders is a complete waste of your money. I know a few people that got scamed by them. All they do is scrape the other job boards and charge your for them to do that and they drown you with so much stuff and you think they are doing something. Indeed.com is free and gives you all the major job boards in one shot.

In addition to Indeed.com, I've also become a fan of LinkUp.com. Instead of just checking major job boards, it also checks job listings on the websites of many major corporations.

Looks like icurhere2 is going to pull a very unwanted overload.

She's almost certainly being genuine. There's a VERY strong chance that someone who lives and works in Sanibel has never even seen snow, much less understands the impact of an actual snow storm and what happens.
