Thanks for the tip!

Still, I find it odd that I no longer get the year end summary. I'm usually not a "paper statement" type of person, but I did enjoy studying this one. I guess it's related to our expense reporting changes. I fear that Membership Rewards will be the next thing to go!

Spent less than $1,200 last year on lodging (really surprises me).

My December spending on food was minimal. Of course, that was greatly helped by the fact that I was at home with my parents for two weeks over the holidays - which meant that I got to be a freeloader and eat for free for two weeks (save a handful of bar tabs from nights out with friends).

I presume that let you see the breakdown. And when I was in the private sector, Membership Rewards were fair game if we paid the annual fee individually. Considering I earned enough points to more than cover all Christmas gifts each year by far ...

Almost as much as $192 in car rental on the year.

Copa and Dunkin' are no longer friends. The abject lack of English comprehension skills in the Dunkins around here have driven me back to being a full-time Wawa person. Dunkin' will only be procured in  emergencies, such as a desperate need for hot chocolate. When I say "extra large hot chocolate with cream" and they try to give me a large with whipped cream, that is English Comprehension EPIC FAIL. They still screwed up the extra large part and I only got a large, but I was using a gift card and I wasn't about to stand there any longer and teach them the difference.

About $1K of that was expensable. The rest was a lot of solo meals while at home over the holidays...having a wife with morning sickness and a sensitive nose means not a lot of cooking was done.

If I purchased coffee out, I might put up with them solely for the AmEx promotion the next few months.

That is very  For as much as I love Dunks, I've had to chew out a few people there for English Comprehension Fail in the past.

I think partially why my restaurant spend is relatively high is because I'm a single, 24 year old male that doesn't know much about how to cook. Thus, it's easier for me to pay for food than try to cook something that might end up a disaster (which is about 25% of the things I cook).

bdjohns1 Jan 12, 2010 12:48 pm

My non-food corporate spending last year on the corp AmEx:

Airfare: $25K
Lodging: $14K
Car Rentals: $5K

If I'd been able to run all of that through my CostCo Amex, that would've been worth about $800 extra coming back to me at 2%. Shame my credit limit would've made that problematic.
