I'm pretty sure Stephen Starr's new steakhouse (Butcher and Singer) is nearby as well.

Did you pick Jones on account of a particular affinity for Starr?

Does that mean you're coming for Boxbowl weekend?

I posted elsewhere that I'm affirmative. And I'm earning a lot of BD status miles (AKA "taking F seats away from UA elites") on the way.

I would pay to share a table with you and Phudnik. I do know the GM at the earlier-referenced Palm.

You're one of just three FT'ers I've met thrice - you would definitely be welcome.

The Box knows I will fly to spend a few hours with good people (CO Do IV, Central NJ Mini Do, Greasy Spoon Do, Hockey Do).

Being new here I'm not aware of the upcoming Do schedule. Anything interesting coming up? If another Hockey Do is planned, I'm there for sure.

Troubling, no doubt. However, it's a limited sample, and my recent experiences (Westin Rotterdam, W Istanbul, Hotel Kämp, Sheraton Stockholm, W Chicago City Center) all resulted in very nice upgrades and service (with the exception of a minor billing issue at W Chicago for a mini-bar item I didn't use). I'm not sure I agree that there has been some sort of race to the bottom across SPG properties. I'm willing to chalk Westin Tampa to new property with  management and staff training. I'll just add it to my (relatively small) list of hotels to avoid.

You missed this year's large-scale Hockey Do. The Hockey Do is made possible by offering to Teh Box the discounted nonprofit group ticket offer I get to Devils games for the one annual Rotary group that my mother and I put together. Any other FTer hockey this season would be at the retail seat price.

What did he say this time?

There were no domestic terroist attacks under Bush. He forgot about 9-11, shoe bomber, anthrax. Then he changed it tonight to being non since 9-11 which means he still forgot about shoe bomber and anthrax.

Woodford Reserve is such a versatile beverage. I was known for having bourbon, bananas, and Biscoffs as breakfast on the 0555 BNA-MEM flight. ^

The next mini Do is next weekend
The 2nd Annual Penalty Box International Leadership Conference in PRG, last year it was held in BRU with great success.

baglady, I'm nearly done with the Nikki Heat book -- do you want it?

The Box may recall Westin AUA was the hotel that asked if I needed "girls" upon check-in ...

If I didn't have to teach, I would be willing to burn miles for said event.

Given my post count here, I really should attend one of these at some point.

Yeah, Hilton still excels in terms of the quality of their lower-/mid-tier properties and their number of locations. While I like Marriott's higher end stuff, Hampton Inn beats the heck out of Fairfield, and I still prefer Hilton Garden Inn to Courtyard.
