Breakfast was also good (if interested in the dining Platinum Extra bonus points) but the suite I got was easily more than twice as big as a HP room. If you're getting in late but doing other stays for FFN this month, might be good to use toward a suite elsewhere.

I'm likely to be out of the hotel by 7 am, so breakfast doesn't seem to be an option.

I think I only get a club upgrade, which given my pattern of stays (work late enough and leave early enough that lounges are rarely open when I'm there) I tend to use these for food/beverage or points.

I have some degree of hesitation in learning the Hyatt program...you two are almost speaking a foreign language.

It is probably the best program in terms of the benefits you get as an elite, especially at the lowest tier. The problem I have with Hyatts is that they are either hard to find or extremely expensive where I need to stay.

Le Meridien Bangkok and St. Regis Singapore.
Hyatt is way ahead in that category.

Hyatt and FFN ("Next Big Thing" right now) is also a great thing. When SPG did the corollary last spring/summer for free weekend nights, I did indeed have a few SPG stays (Central NJ Mini Do and generic BNA to use at the Westin AUA).

Thus is my issue with both Hyatt and SPG. But I do agree that both programs have great benefits to offer if they work for your travel habits.

It is 20 degrees. I am going to crawl into bed with Mrs. Mackie (who is feeling much better, thankfully) and get the weekend started with some rest. Night, Box.

It is for this reason that I can't seem to pry myself away from Hilton, no matter how hard I try.

So if the two status levels are that simple, what's with the G bonuses?

FT is acting wobbly bonkers:

G bonuses are posted on the GoldPassport website and can be added to paid reservations and are in addition to normal points, elite points, and FFNs. They are available here. G1 = 1,000 extra points, G2 = 2,000 extra points, and G3 = 1,500 extra points.

+1.

Got the HH AmEx, and I'm perfectly satisfied with Hampton Inn breakfast...and I'm not dumb enough to stay at "full-service" Hiltons.

I'm trying the new Westin in MCO next month; can't wait. I have to figure out how to meet my friend, who is a Marriott concierge, and not p!ss her off for being a traitor.

Those two are great to leverage but I do admit to Choice, Hilton, Marriott, and PriorityClub stays in 2009 as well.

20 degrees.. seriously? Hopefully my socks are ok.. I'll let them be. And tell Mrs Mackie to get fully recovered soon!

Night, Box.

Hyatt Summerfield in Morristown, NJ is $69 tomorrow night and a G2. I would do it but I dont have anywhere to use the FFN before it expires.

Buy her a drink while she collects competitive intelligence about the Westin? ;)

You travel enough that you should not have to justify your doubled top tier lifestyle to anyone.
