It's been over 48 hours since the CO CSR said my status match would process in "24-48 hours". Did I get the heisman, or is it just the holiday slowing things down?

Will I be able to fulfill my MR jones on CO that has been so fun, for so long, on NW?

I want to play in the box as one of you. Such agony, the wait!

I have no answer, but holiday is sure slowing me down. I have been working with some people since Monday and Tuesday told, next Monday we will get back to you.

That and my power company forgot to debit my account on autopay, and sent me disconnect notice for jan 4 IN THE MAIL, they send everything else by email so I didn't get this notice, that they put in the mail on Dec 24th.

I am in a pissy mood I guess.

you can play in the box in any case :)

For the five or six times that I have needed to call them I have had a fairly competent agent about 80% of the time which is more than I can say for the elite line at CO. There was another undesirable schedule change for my HNL trip and it just took one quick call to resolve and they don’t seem to care how much of a schedule change there is. To them it seems a schedule change is a “free pass” to make any changed, and that’s exactly what I did. :)

*It seems that you can avoid the International call center (India) by just saying “agent” and when the system asks, if you are traveling domestically within in the United States say “NO”. That has seemed to get me a fairly competent North American based agent every time. I am however 0 for 8 in attempts to secure E+ :-:

Happy New Year, Box.

The US-based international agents are generally the best of the bunch at UA. The agents who do award reservations are pretty :-: as well. I still remember my best UA phone agent experience was booking my honeymoon back in '04 to Australia.

I also remember doing $15K in damage to a rental car on that trip.

Also, in my 20-page catchup this afternoon, I forgot to reply the one of the Box's recently minted 3Ps (Mackieman?) in reference to E+ / exit row booking. 3Ps can pre-book E+ seats on UA, but not exit row. Exit row seats are reserved for 1P at least until the flight goes to airport control. Seems only fair given that those seats can have 38-40" pitch on mainline UA flights, and in the case of row 9 on a Skywest EMB-120, it's more like 45-50". :D

Yeah, several others confirmed that as well. The 3P status showed up on .bomb for me today but any bookings I attempt will not let me select E+ seats, or they're already full for all the segments I checked which I find very hard to believe. Perhaps another 24 hour processing period will open up that ability for me. We'll see.

What is the policy on CO IDBs? I know someone who was IDBed IAH-EWR and only given $300, food voucher, and a clothing voucher.

Happy new year, Box. NYE was surprisingly enjoyable for us -- in Phila for a dinner at a restaurant owned by someone who was a neighbor of my parents 42 years ago (and who claims to remember them) and went to see Up in the Air. Also came within 1/2 a block of CM but unfortunately had no time to stop and say hello. Mike, if you're working during the week next week or the week of the 19th, PM me if you want to have lunch.

Condolences to MBM3.

Didn't see the game, but my parents watched it (mom is a Northwestern alumna) and said that the first-string kicker was hurt on the previous series, which may have had something to do with the fake field goal.

Happy New Year!

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. What a strange end to 2009. The job fairy has left me without a job. Hopefully that will change soon. I was in BOS for a week visiting my in-laws. Had one hell of a travel day yesterday. Walked in the house to a dead cat. He was 16 and in failing health, so it wasn't unexpected. As for our travel day, I used miles to fly us to BOS and back. In Y IAH-BOS. In Y BOS-PHL (on US), and F PHL-IAH. We eventually wound up in Y on CO BOS-IAH. A couple questions - I plan to call the OP Service Center and request some miles redeposited in my account since we flew in Y and not F. We unfortunately paid US $25 for an extra bag. For some reason, the PNR did not have both of us in it. We had no problems w/ CO - as I am * silver, and my wife carries a CO Chase card. How do I get my $25 back? Since we never flew on US, they cxl'd the flight.

By the way, the new video w/ Jeff Swisek is on CO vision. He's in front of some graphics to thank us for flying on CO. No more Kellner. The new CO magazine is puny in size.

Back from a very busy day - went to the early matinee of Up In The Air and really enjoyed it.^ I thought after reading how everyone loved it I'd be let down, but it lived up to its Box reputation. The best part was when I could I lean over to my friend and whisper, "I know people like this.":D;)

Then it was on to a nice pub for some Blue Moon, and then to other friends' house for the Rose Bowl. Glad Ohio won since my friends are die hard, decked out fans.

With IDB's you are entitled to the cash value of the ticket.
