There is a HP that is very close to the airport...

In fact, if landing to the north on 35, you basically fly right over it at a couple hundred feet.

Indeed...that is a very important milestone.

Of course, it's subject to change, since if I get the job I applied for, there would be about 75-100 Hilton nights a year from that, so I'd easily make Diamond there.

75-100 Hilton nights? That might get you enough points for an award night at a Waldorf Astoria after January 14 ...

Sweet. I got one hop event in SFO (airport and old Park Hyatt) years ago, but it has never worked again. NYC could work, if one stays at Jersey City and GH or Andaz (see Wall Street thread).

"Through" MSP, not "to" MSP. ;) UA has some really odd routing rules on the itinerary in question.

Why stay at the Waldorf when starting next year I can stay at my parents place in NJ. I mean, no points, but free homecooked meals and my mother volunteering to do laundry for me at no cost to me...it's very ^^^.

I did commemorate that milestone because only two others have that achievement.

We bow down to that memory, oh dark-side one!

When doesn't UA have really weird routing rules?

There are Waldorf Astoria hotels outside NYC - I'm burning points at the one in Versailles.

Ah...either way, I'm all about saving the points. I tend not to go for luxury hotels since once I'm sleeping, I can't remember anything, and I don't tend to stay at the hotel when I'm at my destination.

Same here. I tend not to care about my room. I am SPG Gold, but MEH.

I think I'm the exact opposite. I love that every time I come into or leave the PH Paris Vendome, I'm addressed by name (often by people I hadn't met). I should put a new photo up on my LinkedIn profile to really confuse them. :D

Airline points are great because I enjoy J class (since I tend to be awake for a good part of the journey). Hotel status is only good to me because I get bonus points which leads to free nights faster. For those 8 hours I'm asleep, a Courtyard is the same as a JW Marriott since I'm off dreaming (supposedly...I can never recall any dreams I had).

Well Box, I have a busy day tomorrow between work, a holiday party, drinking in the SkyClub, then drinking plenty of Woodfords on my Delta flights (I humbly apologize to teh Box for such an indiscretion - hence why I shall consume Woodfords as penance).

'Night Box!
