It looks like we got another inch or two of snow here. It's raining pretty good now, so it's all turned in to a slushy mess.

I'm so done with Northeast winters.

Winter isn't even officially here, yet! Are you planning to move?:D

I know, not even here and I'm already tired of it. :) I see there is more snow in the forecast for Sunday/Monday. My job search does include places outside of the area, so we will happily move for a job and for warmer weather.

At the risk of resurrecting a topic of conversation from a few days ago, winter around here isn't so bad, compared to the Rust Belt, upstate NY, or New England. Down here it's just been pouring since the middle of the night. It doesn't snow much in Philly (though when it does people panic) and it rarely gets bitterly cold.

I like having distinct seasons, though having visited southern California and lived in SC, I can understand the appeal of mild/no winter.

No question, there are areas of the country that experience a much worse winter than NJ. I'm just the type that hates any temperature below about 65. :)

Then San Diego is the place for you, or maybe South Florida if you don't mind alligators and humidity.

Ok - I freely admitted numerous times before that I ain't that bright. :D Can any of you mileage mavens highlight why AA might not still be the better deal (with the 100K min and 8 vips)? I would have started a thread but didn't feel like taking the abuse. ;)

I'm a nonhub-captive person and am struggling (sincerely! I miss CO) on why I should divert my (purely personal) travel funds back that way. If I'm going to be in it to win it (read: travel or MR up to 100K) then why might AA be a bad choice for me?

Better upgrade rates, more "SWUs" and better treatment at the top tier. Trade that for MD88s (yeah, they're being retired and replaced, but not fast enough), and OW v. *A. I like CO still in that deal unless AA is a hub option but that's just me.

AA's 752 is apparently making a fuel stop on BRU-JFK today. That seems rather strange. There is no reason that route should be too far even with pretty significant headwinds.

I wouldn't be surprised if other TATL 752s make a fuel stop today.

Not terrible (and I have to look at the Atlantic map for the whole picture), but there are some decent headwinds up there.

So I've just found out that I have to go to Greenwood Mississississippi on the week of Christmas. Out on Monday, back on maybe Wednesday evening, definitely Thursday.

Greenwood is ~125mi from both MEM and JAN. Almost exactly half-way between the two. I've got FM lines to both places.

WWTBD?

Fly on price and timing.

I also wonder if weather around JFK has anything to do with it. Perhaps they are anticipating the need to hold and will need a little extra fuel for their reserves.

ETA: FlightAware and AA.com both show AA171 flight direct to JFK with no stop.

That's what I get for believing a guy on twitter. Then again, he was in the BRU airport so maybe he does know something.

I knew it would be headwind related. Still, a bit surprising. Whatever. Not my problem.

Off to harass the TSA some more. :D

Wasn't global warming going to stop this brutal winters?:D
I guess all those private jets going to the conference (so they can propose adding another tax to the airline passengers again ) won't make much of a difference .

Morning, Box. I survived.

Anyone know what that orange soupy stuff on the tray with the cheeseburger in F is? I didn't catch the description, but it was yummeh.

Oh, FYI: the parking coupon in CO magazine for same-day turns: Is Not Possible. They added a 3-day stay to the fine print.

Your mileage run was the trigger for the CO SWU :-:
