Probably. I only watch a few seconds of it. All I saw was halved squash and melting butter.

On a related note - does anyone have good butternut squash recipes?

My wife makes a delicious soup out of it. Let me know if you want more details.

On a different note, why do I bother? Really. Why?

Good article on the former head of TARP.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...02016.html?g=0

It all began as it ended, abruptly. Kashkari was a 35-year-old business school graduate from a suburb of Akron, Ohio, who had gone to Washington in 2006 to learn how government worked. Then came the recession, and through a freakish set of circumstances, mixing pluck, cataclysm and luck, he was appointed by Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson as the federal bailout chief.

Suddenly, he was in charge of $700 billion.

Congress savaged him. Wall Street Journal editorials doubted him. His home-town buddies urged him to use the money to buy the Cleveland Browns and fire the coaches. His wife spoke to him so rarely, she described them as "dead to each other." He lost sleep, gained weight and saw a close adviser, Don Hammond, suffer a heart attack at his Treasury desk. On May 1, after serving seven months under Presidents Bush and Obama, he resigned.

I usually just roast it and make it into something resembling loose mashed potatoes.

I've had it that way, but I'm looking for something a little different. :)

Less than an hour ago I watched a couple of seconds of a recipe on the Food Network. I can't find the recipe on-line though. The show was Guy's (Fieri) Big Bite.

I checked the FN site and Guy has several butternut squash recipes that sounds quite good. Thanks!

Soup in the winter is always good! If she's willing to share the recipe (and if you don't mind typing it out sometime) please send it over.

I'd be sick of steak and eggs that many times. I can't eat the same thing 2 days in a row very often.

I saw mussels at the store and thought about making some mussels in wine sauce but really prefer scallops which they were out of at the time(at publix!)

I am doing this today, http://budgetbytes.blogspot.com/2009...2-serving.html after I finish my pizza from yesterday

Steak and eggs four times in one week - twice for mid-afternoon and twice for brunch - is OK. Means there are eggs I need to use out of the fridge. And I did mussels in wine sauce at the beginning of the week. :D

I am amazed at the culinary aptitude of the Penalty Box, Mussels/Scallops in wine sauce, steak and eggs, etc. I have known for some time that xyzzy and the Fabulous Mrs. xyzzy are amazing cooks, but I was totally unaware that so many others are as well.

I must admit that I eat out 7 nights a week, but that has more to do with the fact that I have put myself in the hospital in the past when I have attempted to cook for myself (salmonella is not fun :( ).

I make a steady diet of Sushi and fish with a mixture of other proteins mixed in for good measure.

Dan
