Does anyone who has recently bought a house/condo find that the real estate agents and attorneys underestimate EVERYTHING!!! I was told that title insurance would cost between 1,500-1,800, nope $2,400. I was also told that condo insurance would be about $500, nope $1,100, but this is a little confusing because an insurance broker we were reffered to suggest we insure it at 70% of the cost. I highly disagree with this because we are responsible for the interior walls in and the association holds a policy that covers the common areas and exterior walls. Plus you are talking about the North East where everything is overpriced to begin with because land is so expensive and the same unit would be sold for less than half the price in the South.
If anyone has bought a condo recently or is in the insurance business and could give me some advice please PM me. I'd like to get some advice from someone who doesnt benefit from selling me more insurance than I need:mad: |
So.. I ran into an interesting new series of website today...
Anyone else belong to the "Gilt" group? (yes, it's supposed to sound like Guilt) It's a private sale website thingy.. mostly fashion/clothing but they occasionally venture into other stuff. All high end, RL Black Label, Helmut Lang, Eli Tahari for example (and that's just the current men's sale i browsed). It's a contract sample-sale sort of thing from what I've gather. But, aside from clothes, it has a section/website called JetSetter that offers luxury and boutique getaways for what appears to be as good of a deal as the clothes. Things like the Tabacon "Thermal spa" and resort in Costa Rica for $120 a night. I dunno, still poking around, but all in all it seems like a good thing to be a part of. Each sale only last 72 hours and then it's gone, so it's kinda like a high-end Woot.com Anyone else in the Box a member? If you need a referal I can provide (otherwise they waitlist you.. not sure how long that process takes.) Full disclosure, i'll get $25 store credit if you make a purchase after using my referal. So, Gilt and Jetsetter anyone..? For some reason this seems like baglady territory. ;) |
Hehe!
In my dreams! Just looked at the Viceroy Anguilla via jetsetter.. suite for $650 a night, or the 4 bedroom blufftop villa for $4500 a night. Yeah, too rich for my blood. |
G'morning, Box.
It is damn cold up here this morning. Clear blue skies but bitter cold. |
