It's gonna be a long way back to NYC.

Bummer.

If you're feeling up for hanging out with some FTers tonight when you get back up here let me know. The AA NYC Do is today and there should be some bar time after a Palm (Tribeca ) dinner.

Yup...all elites do.

^, thanks. That still makes SBA a less appealing option, as I can't get there on one ticket, nor do I want to pay $225 for a 178-mile roundtrip flight.

You could probably book it as a single ticket on .bomb while keeping a few CO segments. :-:

The thought crossed my mind, but knowing .bomb, it would probably charge me 3-4x what CO wants for other destinations. I'll check ITA in the spirit of fair play, but I'm not expecting anything spectacular.

IME, UA usually has extremely reasonable transcon fares - especially out of PHL. If the fare is  now, keep an eye on it because I've seen PHL-SBA for <$175 on UA several times in the past.

Um, right...$309 to go to SEA, $600 to SBA. Even getting 500 EQM for LAX-SBA doesn't make that a viable comparison.

$175 would be a slam dunk. But I can't imagine that SBA would drop that low at the end of June, which is when I'm entertaining the thought of going.

You may be surprised - I considered a trip out there this past summer when it was around $200 on UA.

Either way, I'm not sure you're going to find many good fares to the west coast this far out.

I'm going to tell my Palm story for what i'm sure is at least the 5th time for the Box.

Years ago working at Neiman Marcus I was helping a woman in designer jewelry, the department I worked in, and she was being a chatty Cathy about making lunch plans with her friends but not sure where to go.. and I suggest the Palm as I went there occasionally for lunch from work.

She looks bamboozled, and said "People like you eat there?"

I nearly back handed her..

If I could get the city pairings that ITA is giving me to get to SBA for a price point like that, I would do it, because I'd be getting three 500 EQM segments and lots of different lines and dots. PHL-PIT-LAX-SBA/SBA-LAX-ORD-PHL.

If that happened to me, I've got the ultimate comeback.

"People like you eat there?"

"People like me look down on you from the walls."

I wish CO or UA would match AA's $179 EWR-LAX fare. Unfortunately, it appears to be a mistake H fare so I doubt it will happen. :(

I wonder if the guys that run FlightMemory would consider the addition of a < or > in the lines that connect cities.
