They do mention "Wandering Aramean" by name a bit further down in the chunk of the text that is part of the original story. And I'm seeing a decent chunk of traffic come through that ingress means. I'm not bitter.

Oh, and despite their claims that the doc is offline it is still online in at least one link on the FBO.GOV site. Or it was at 10am EST today.

It probably won't be $30k solely on CO next year. Work travel is always spread out amongst various carriers, mostly UA and DL.

There's absolutely no way I'll spend $30K, as all my travel is leisure.

Yeah, I am wondering how much I will be able to push to CO myself if clients are paying.

I do not recall that name, it is in Central above one of the malls.

Ditto.

Lots of the sources have linked back to me. I've gotten tons of traffic (and a decent number of ad clicks) from this thing. I have no complaints.

Any clue as to your spend?

My spend is around 20k but see that going up next year. I don't have time to hit the MR routes for the most part :(
While I would have just qualified for Plat without DEQMs this year, I have a high spend per ticket in most cases.

It's fine by me, though. CO should reward its big spenders. I'll be plenty happy with the 100K SWUs. ^

I wouldn't go that far, but I consider Stewart to be a pretty decent news source (mixed with obvious comedy/satire elements). He covers a lot of stories that mainstream media won't touch, because mainstream media is playing to the lowest common denominator (the nascent idiocracy), and thinks all we need/deserve to hear about are Tiger, Michael Jackson, and Anna Nicole Smith.

I primarily cull news stories from Salon, The Guardian Online, and Digg. The Guardian has been a bit  lately, as they're obsessed with the upcoming UK election (they've always been Labour's paper), and futbol. Usually their front-page stuff is good for a broad spectrum of news that isn't generally covered by U.S. sources.

When has the media not been in the pocket of the Left? That's what kills me about the Fox News complaints. To me, it is less about freedom of choice than it is the Left whining that they do not have total dominance.

Here's the thing, though: the mainstream media is biased to the left, but they won't admit it, nor will they associate themselves with anyone who will challenge the assertion of bias. Plus, they are petrified of bringing up things that will open them up to accusations of being racist or having any other -ism. TV news is repugnant like this: a crime suspect's race will never be verbally stated, and the anchors will always rely on a drawing or a previous mug shot. It is then left to the viewer to say to themselves that the suspect is Black or Asian or whatever. Special interests have gained way too much power, and the country at large suffers for it.

True, it is an inherent fault of free market based news media. However, state supported news can be problematic too with censorship and all IMHO.

And bloggers are free from both of those. There are no state censorship mandates, unless you're being monitored a la Beijing, and there are no advertisers to answer to unless you have reached a point where advertisers are clamoring to be on your pages. I don't know of too many blogs that have reached that status.

Not so sure about that -- very few bloggers do actual reporting (at least that I've seen). You will lose a lot of local coverage, etc., if newspapers go the way of the dodo. (I am a bit of a hypocrite in this respect since I dropped our subscription to the Inquirer earlier this year.)

If they don't do reporting, they certainly look like they try harder.

I'm going to disagree here. The media is in the pocket of the conglomerates that own them (News Corp., Clear Channel, Etc.), and the large corporate advertisers (the revenue base) that drive their profits. It all comes down to Dollars and Cents.

The corporate owned mainstream media is nothing more than a revenue generator and PR tool for the corporations that support and control it. They don't care about ideology, other than advancing their own financial interests (which, IMO, are generally at odds with the public's interest in obtaining quality news).
