I'm at 0 EQM until the Olympics, as I don't think rollover will happen before then.

Booked my first EQM of the year before dinner. Feels good to know I won't be staying at zero and actually using my *G.

CO joins DL on the baggage fee hike.

Is National a good car program for a leisure traveler, or are the rates so high that the biz travelers use them and just expense their cars?

I'm waiting until the cheapo $400 MSP-Europe fares return as they do every February. $400 is much better than the current $600 fares.

I've never found a National rate that wasn't easily twice as much as Alamo or Enterprise. I know most Boxers would never rent from them but $$ is key for me and I've never had a problem with them.

You reminded me - I am indeed abusing BD the week before the Olympics.

Yeah, I just checked the rental prices on co.com and they were all  as compared to thrifty.com. Thrifty's free rental day certificate is a joke, as it jacks up the price to be the same or higher.

When are you going and what rates are you seeing for National?

I've been finding decent(as in lower than the car sites) rates on Expedia. And still coupon-able.

And still no response from the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace. Last week's message promised some insight no later than today.

Finally made it back from South Africa, 4 back-to-back MRs, a bad case of food poisoning. Hope everyone had a good holiday and the shock of seeing all those zeros on the elite counters has worn off. :D

All very nice! ^

2/28-3/3 out of SJC. I can beat National by $50 if I stick with Thrifty.
