Is National a good car program for a leisure traveler, or are the rates so high that the biz travelers use them and just expense their cars?

I've never found a National rate that wasn't easily twice as much as Alamo or Enterprise. I know most Boxers would never rent from them but $$ is key for me and I've never had a problem with them.

I've been finding decent(as in lower than the car sites) rates on Expedia. And still coupon-able. |
And still no response from the Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace. Last week's message promised some insight no later than today.
