So I've just found out that I have to go to Greenwood Mississississippi on the week of Christmas. Out on Monday, back on maybe Wednesday evening, definitely Thursday.
Greenwood is ~125mi from both MEM and JAN. Almost exactly half-way between the two. I've got FM lines to both places. WWTBD? |

Is there an airport where it isn't awful, though?

Honestly, the few flights I've had on AirTran this year have been consistently more pleasant travel experiences than the flights I've had on DL. At least with AirTran the employees have all been cheerful, friendly, and helpful, the flights on time, the check-in process efficient, and my seat assignments haven't been lost multiple times through repeated schedule and equipment changes.

I've been fine in ATL, BNA, BOS, LAS, and ZRH. AUA was completely  with just one flight ...

Personally, I still can't get over the fact that they are just a rebadged Valujet.

I really liked their little greetings email last year. The little snowman with the red coat on, etc. :)

CO's typical system of kiosks at the counter, by the agents, tends to work better IMO. You may have to wait in a bit of a line to get to the kiosk but once you're there, you can get it all done at once. And CO keeps those lines moving by directing passengers to every available kiosk. The CO system of printing the bag tag when the kiosk prints the boarding pass is more efficient as well. My sister-in-law had to use the non-elite CO line to print her boarding pass and check a bag at LAX this Sunday as well. CO was rather busy at the time, and she still managed to get through a line of about 100 people in front of her in around 10-15 minutes, start to finish. I just find that every airport I frequent where DL has moved the kiosks out away from the counter, and combined NW and DL check-in to a single location (usually the old DL counter, which wasn't expanded to handle the additional load), it's a mess. I don't see this going on at most other airlines. |
Vigin America is right next to CO at FLL, it looks like CO might even be handling it for them by the looks of the desk layout and all, just if someone is curious.

Interesting! It's raining pretty hard up here -- have to imagine that will affect travel some -- at least it's not freezing!
I'm so done with Northeast winters. |
