Since I have been absent from the box the last few days, is anyone going to the Up In the Air screening tomorrow?

Anything but DL. Sorry, I'm still mad at them. This morning I learned that through their never-ending schedule and equipment changes my partner ended up in a middle seat on a DL 757 for his ATL-LAX flight.

Since I can get it away with it here and not get flamed, when I think about all that NW PE's have lost it goes like this:

1. Unlimited companion upgrades at the PE window with no fare restriction.
2. Unlimited and free changing of award tickets
3. 125% RDM accrual
4. At the gate companion upgrade with no fare restriction
5. Domestic awards subject to EUA starting at the silver window
6. Phantom Upgrades
7. Upgrades with miles on deepest discount coach domestically including Hawaii
8. Expanded Award Inventory domestically and internationally
9. Threshold awards

We really took it on the chin. In return, we got free snacks in coach, AVOD on select flights that I could care less about, and a supposed superior in-flight product (ahem).

Yes sir, Y'all in these parts might refer to it as a big old double bag of :rolleyes:

I've also managed to pry off a beer cap with the rental car key, but that left the car key where it was difficult to get the car started (kind of like the Avis key we f'ed up in Corpus back in July :D).

:o

Sadly I have to pass as I have a meeting I need to be at.

I agree, as I said, i'm just setting up for a burn scenario. I have about 270k, if I did fly 15k, i'd get 300k which is more than enough for 3 US-EU C rewards.

I am about to dump some points off my corporate Diners Club card to my SkyMiles account just to top it off to a point where I can get a couple of award tickets in the front cabin. That's about all I'll use DL for these days, and given the bonus on transferring those points right now to SkyMiles, it's an easy way to build that balance up enough that I can use it for something worthwhile. My partner will be doing the same with his corporate Amex card's point and his SkyMiles account as well.

You did explain to her that it's a love story, right?

I miss the old NW too. I never was a World Perks elite, but I flew NW often as a CO elite and always had great flights. I think there are a few nice changes to in flight service with the merger in the main cabin, but IFE and main cabin snacks are things NW could have done on its own. Overall I'm in full agreement that the changes are mostly negative. And, having flown NW-operated flights in F this year, the more DL changed NW, the worse the domestic F service was. Overall, I'd still take the old NW over the new DL.

I'm driving that Pontiac's red-headed step sister this week. A bright red G6 with nearly 40,000 miles on it, seats that have a variety of mysterious stains, and by some miracle, an activated XM receiver. Oh, and it smells like someone's grandmother spilled her perfume inside of it too.

Agreed, though there are a number of alternatives for both scenarios. I'm pretty good at using a binder clip to get a beer bottle open and I've punched in my share of corks. On the cork front it is way easier with the real ones versus the plastic ones.

I'm pretty good at using a car key to open beer bottles, a lesson learned at Quantico.

My wife is a high school special education teacher now working specifically on transition skills for students with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities as well as her group of Autistic kids. So I guess there is a service responsibility, but I don't know how well it is defined. You can probably make more sense of it than I. :)

I got funds as an undergrad that required teaching - I also had a graduate teaching assistantship my first year of my master's program.
