Me too. I love my Canon. It's small, light, takes good pictures and is easy for a techno-phobe like me - just point, click and be on your way!

I just snagged a new Canon, for me, a A480. It's the smallest one I could find that uses AA batteries and SD-since I already have a bunch of both and refuse to start carrying a ton of different batteries and chargers.
BF sale at Fry's for 59 bucks shipped-10mp, 3.3 zoom. Seems to fit in my pockets easily enough or more so than another(710IS) does

I use the initials of my specialty-Total Information Technology Specialist
It always gets a few double takes

Yea -- we had that issue on the StarMegaDO -- about 70 bottles of wine were loaded in Oslo and just before they closed door 1R the purser realized that we didn't have a corkscrew!

I need to take some trips to the west coast before the end of the year. I'm trying to figure out if I should take CO, UA or DL.

I've already hit my 125k threshold for UA so i don't need any more EQMs there. I'm approaching 200k on CO so I don't need any EQMs there. DL i'm only at about 60k. Is it worth trying to hit Plat on DL or just push all the EQMs to CO to bad the million miler balance?

Is that P.E. for Petroleum Engineer? If so send me a PM, the company my dad works for is growing aggresively. Bad thing is its in the festering pit and they primarily fly private jets around so no miles.

150k on UA nets 2 more SWUs @:-).

I have initials after my name, but they're all relatively irrelevant for my current career.

On my next round of business cards, I'm thinking of having my name appear as:

belynch, Certified

Plus CR-1s, which it sounds like will be handy for those domestic situations where you don't want to play EUA roulette (ie UGS-heavy routes) - confirm the upgrade at booking.

As noted you do get the extra goodies on UA. Also note, you can get some extra goodies on DL for hitting PM next year. https://www.delta.com/skymiles/about...es_program.jsp

You get the 2 free redeposits, the waiver of close in fees which are probably the best thing from a reward standpoint. I probably would allocate to DL just to lock up ST USA, but DL is sooooooo underwhelming. Note, I am dropping from PM to GM myself, but if I had extra trips planned I would likely allocate to DL. Sorry ..... my disgruntled NWA roots showing again ....:(

Now, those of us in Houston aren't really entitled to throw stones. This place can look like beyond Thunderdome when white death begins falling from the sky. It doesn't happen often enough, though, so we have to make do with local news footage of the idiots in Dallas trying to drive during their (nearly) annual ice-storm.

The 2007 storm happened just before I moved back to Houston and I remember watching the news that morning and seeing cars sliding down the High Five.

I did get a cool shot from that day though:

I wish I could have said the same - any service responsibility (GA / RA / TA) attached?

I am not well versed in the service requirements of higher education, but it is an M.Ed in Special Education with an emphasis on transition services for high school students, and I believe there is an expectation that if you are selected for the program and earn the degree, you will go work in that field. My wife is a high school special education teacher now working specifically on transition skills for students with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities as well as her group of Autistic kids. So I guess there is a service responsibility, but I don't know how well it is defined. You can probably make more sense of it than I. :)

Heh, thanks. I'm not so much into college football so it isn't a big deal for me, but I'm sure we'll get ribbed appropriately. :)

Will se be commuting to College Station or do they have an extension campus near yall?

It's an interesting setup with light loads during the school year and heavy loads over the summer, as it is a program designed for existing special education teachers. We'll likely have to make it down to College Station during the summer which will be a great way to earn Marriott Rewards points and elite qualification nights. :D During the school year, most of the classes are online or otherwise available via distance learning (H.323 video conferencing, for example). Schedule details are still to be determined.

Hey Mackieman, she could get Silver Elite on CO with only 7.5 AUS-IAH-CLL-IAH-AUS trips, Gold with only 15, and Platinum with 22.5 if she decided to commute between Austin and College Station by plane. :D

I was calculating that in my head this morning, hehe. I may do that if she has to go down there a lot during the week when I can't go with her. At least if she makes Gold she can book me exit rows in Y so I don't have to pay for F quite as often. ^

I am freezing. It's cold and pouring rain outside and there's no heat in this building. The temperature in this room is below 65° F now and dropping.

And I'm still feeling sick.

I really want to go back to the hotel and curl up under a blanket.

That is what i'm leaning towards. :)

Because everyone needs 10 SWUs next year. I had a hard enough time using eight this year.
