To me the food presentation is just unpolished. How much harder is it to not haul a full galley cart down the aisle and start ripping off foil and plastic wrap as you're putting the dishes on the passenger's table? But then, NW and DL have served in domestic F this way for years, and CO doesn't even do it there. To me it's just a coach service style of presentation, with a premium class seat of dishes.

Alright - I'm going to make myself go back to bed.

Hey, scott6067! I think you missed my comment a couple of days ago regarding Jen from LH coming from Piscataway! I've lived there, too -- many years ago -- attended PHS from '74-'76!;)

OK, I am officially 'obsessed' w/my endeavor to get to Plat!;) I just booked a same-day turn EWR-FLL on 12/15 -- then I'll be at 72,418 before I go to PVR on 12/25!:-: I wanted to avoid using my flex EQMs & take advantage of DEQMs on that last day!^
On a side note, I really wish Chase or CO would make it easier to see how close one is to the 15000 spend for the Flex EQMs. |

I know the feeling. That was part of my motivation to go to BRU in May. The other part was to see what everyone kept talking about after the MLK trip!!

Gee, I guess that nice newspaper article quoting SWA giving an instant $25 voucher for expenses was incorrect. CO has us refer the customer to our Baggage Resolution Center for money but we have toiletry bags in our office to hand out immediately, if needed.
Your aunt and uncle are lucky you know the ins and outs of this business. |

Making progress with the kitchen. Recessed lighting all wired up and working, walls sheet rocked taped and sanded, tile installed and I will put in the base cabinets tomorrow and should be in business by the end of the week.

In general, social sciences and English would be tougher to find jobs than math and science. This is a gross generalization. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule. A lot of it can be 'right place/right time'.
Following your passion can be key to teaching....having passion for your subject can be contagious and anytime we can help students 'catch' our passion for a subject...that is a great thing. Practically, the quickest way into the classroom would be to teach the subject that you already have the strongest background in. You might also want to consider middle schools/Jr. high. From what I know of you from the couple of times we've met, I think you might do well in the middle school too. Can you some subbing in districts that you'd like to work in. That can help a lot in securing a job....they'll get to know you and you wouldn't just be another resume to cross their desk. My field is math education--I help prepare math teachers for elementary, middle and high schools. What you say about passion is undeniably true - that's how I got hooked. One of my history teachers in high school made it sound like so much more than what kids think it is (rote memorization of names and dates) and I want to teach in that style. It sounds cliche and trite but it's true for me: if I can affect just one kid's life (especially with the way society today is progressing) I'll feel like I got something out of it. Thanks for saying that you think I could hack it in a middle school. :) I tend to disagree right now, as I subbed for a 6th grade last week and that one day made me not want to touch that level again. |
