RCC personnel face the brunt of their over-entitled me-first whiny elite culture, and said culture generally believes itself to be populated with a better cut of human being than the airline staff, those peasants that exist only to serve them. They are also looked at as pests by their own senior management, because they commit such audacious crimes as drawing a paycheck. I'd be royally pissed off if I was getting it from both ends like that, and it would take a minor miracle for me not to have a chip on my shoulder when facing customers. UA is past the point of minor miracles doing any good, hence their attitude sucks.

It's not a bad seat at all, and I certainly prefer it to what I've ridden in on DL's 767s up front. Those seats are pretty narrow. The IFE is fairly decent too; better than CO and UA's older systems with the multiple channels on a loop, but not as good as the newer AVOD systems. CO's AVOD on the 777 especially, and the 752 to a certain extent, still has a better selection.

+1, I agree with that. For a while, NW's A330 fleet and its AVOD was quite advanced. Now, its mid-pack IMHO. It is respectable for certain, but not cutting edge which brings up another point. DL's pricing for its product is just ridiculous IMHO. The price it commands for a supposed "premium product" is way more "premium" in price than it is in "product.":td:

That is quite true. At least BusinessFirst, while it may have slipped over the years in seat and IFE quality, has always maintained very high levels of service — I've never had a BusinessFirst flight where the crew wasn't professional, friendly, and the service wasn't outstanding. BusinessFirst catering tends to remain some of the best as well.

Yes it is plenty of time. Just keep in mind that you want to get back to AMS in plenty of time to deal with passport control and security there. Security screening and a secondary immigration examination is done at the gate.

You mentioned secondary immigration examination. Is there one prior to arriving at the gate? I'll be there in two weeks for 4 days. I just read this page of the thread, but how many days were you in Amsterdam?

Good Evening Sir!! Fair enough CM, I guess it is just because the other legacies I don't hear the same levels of complaints, and in fact most people praise their respective lounge personnel. Moreover, it is probably a feature of my bias. As I have noted, at the law firm where I spent my associate years, it was drummed into our head that it was a client/customer service business. Accordingly, the client was monarch, and when the client said jump ..... However, I get your point loud and clear.:)

Fiancee got the keys to the apartment today. We packed up the cars with almost literally everything except the kitchen sink (glassware, barware, dishes, electric skillet, Foreman, toaster oven, you get the point, etc.) and go in two cars to the key pickup meeting, only to find out that the touch-ups she had requested to be done were still in progress. Poo. Can't unload the vehicles. Not much room in either one, but mine gets drafted into service to go to dinner and go endtable shopping. The endtable rode home on her lap. Everything gets delivered for real tomorrow. Our mission is to scrub clean the kitchen and then set up said kitchen. I'll have tremendous fun deciding where the margarita set fits in. ^^

And good evening to you sir, and to all of Teh Box. I've hardly been around today. I totally agree with you that lounges (and law) are client service-based businesses. The client should be the monarch everywhere, and sadly such is not the case. One does not come across the same level of complaints at the other legacies because the other legacies still have some semblance of labor relations, except for maybe US.

The Devils mopping the floor with the Islanders 6-1, with three of those six coming in a span of two minutes and two seconds, will do wonders to improve a guy's day. :-:

Great!^ It's been a total 'veg-out' day for me -- have been dining on random food all day! Forgot to mention that I made belynch's chili - it came out great -- very spicy! Then I've been eating the various pie leftovers (coconut, pumpkin, apple)! Now I'm munching on marcona almonds (w/sea salt, rosemary & olive oil)!:-:
