I spoke too soon. Now the agent is telling me that the system won't let her book it because MLE - SIN is a "back track":mad::mad::rolleyes::mad:

They had raised it to $12 per day right before I left SAN, but you're right in that it was incredibly easy to use T2 from there. I used to park fairly close to the edge of that lot and just walk across the street. It even worked ok for a T1 flight because I didn't mind walking the half mile or so in the wonderful SAN evening air. :) Ah...one of the few things I miss about living there.
Meanwhile the airport jacked up the prices in the short-term lot and basically doubled them. :( |

Has anyone told you why your reservations keep cancelling?
LH and SQ would go into the res. and see that I had all sorts of crazy things from what they could see, two open jaws, unconfirmed seats, and no way to get from Paris to Male, so they'd cancel it. There was also no fare or tax base in the res. because it was all hinging on EK. So, no matter what the CO agents put in the system (or so they tell me) when the Star carriers ran their daily audits on their inventories this one threw up a red flag and dumped the res. Apparently on Star they confirm in real time and there's no more wait and see and their automated systems aren't tuned to harmonize with the absurdity of EK's system. It's a sync issue. Or, at least, that's what I'm sinking it is. I've also been told by every agent I've spoken with that they were put through a web-based training on the :-: system, but they're just learning as they go as the training didn't cover the crazy things us customers request. Hence me having to coach the agents on routings, classes of service offered by certain airlines on certain routes, and fare rules, etc. |

Tell her that SQ is the only *A airline that serves MLE and they only fly SIN-MLE-SIN.
She's "researching, consulting with a supv. and getting back to me." |
Is there a rule that back-tracking is allowed if it's the only routing?

Well, it's forever until after your flight departs.
GREAT SUCCESS. I made up a rule and CO is honoring it. They're now trying to tabulate the taxes on this beast. I told her she'd probably have to send it off to NASA to get an answer. Never too early for a covert Simpsons reference. :o |

Yeah, it probably will be packed. The sign up page said that they will oversell to make sure the place is full. Is yours at AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 (not sure if they're during multiple screenings...)?

I can see why our agents would have to learn as they go. I wonder if they can put the EK flights at the end of your reservation and then fix it (place those flights back into the correct order) once they confirm. For example: CO123 xxx-xxx Co124 xxx-xxx arunk (that's the hold place card for anything after it is protection) EK234 xxx-xxx The 'arunk' will stop the rest of your reservations from getting cancelled. |

I suggest asking them to confirm it without the MLE-SIN flight for now and then try to add that back in later. No sense in losing everything over that one, rather easy flight. Worst case scenario you can book that separately.
Plan A was make up a rule and try and convince them it existed. This seems to have worked. :-: Although I'm approaching hour 3 on this call... |
