He's been raving about them and honestly, i've never flown US internationally and it would be good to do as "research". |

I'm just not a big fan of London. At least, not big enough to use miles and US to get there.
Besides, the women there love to wear boots and it's the perfect time of year for it... |

I blame ALCO.

Like ALCO, I also had some pretty good experiences on US in domestic F so I am a little curious to see what Envoy class is like. I'd never burn miles or cash on it though.

You know, given the choice (and based on my experiences to date), I think I'd pick US F over UA F.
Give me a meal before boarding and a good book and I'd be plenty happy. |

Now I know why Doogie had that horrible look on his face yesterday. Press Release
And they are finally giving up PHL-PEK. Having lived in LAS and remembering the good times for US/HP there I am shocked. I guess they let down their guard there and SWA came in and gotta good! With the drop to 36 daily flights, they might as well leave the A councourse and come to D to give lounge access back to their customers. |

Im taking the wife in July but just for one night (I dont want to spoil her) then we are off to Paris and Barcelona. I have booked the Hilton Diagonal Mar in BCN but am not sure what I should do in London and Paris. By that time I will drop to HH-Gold but will still have SPG-Plat and plenty of points in each to burn (but would prefer to use as little as possible). Where would you stay in CDG (2 nights) and LHR (1 night)?
For London, last few times I've stayed at the Marriott Grosvenor house though i've also stayed at the Le Meredian Picadilly. The latter is rather convenient being in Picadilly. The Grosvenor House wasn't that far and it's near a Hilton property as well, just don't remember which one. If you're only in London for one night and you have an early flight, I'd suggest just staying near the airport. Hotels are often much cheaper and it makes it much easier to get to the airport. Plus, the London city busses are free within the "Heathrow Free Zone" which includes most of the hotels. That way you can ride the free buses and not the shuttles which charge. |
