Congratulations again! BTW, is "SaaS" the acronym for that European relational db, or something you up-to-date guys use that I've never heard of?

Good point. I like the new logo as well — much classier than the swirly blue H. The new logo is on the front page of the Hilton HHonors website now, but once you log in, it's back to the old logo.
I've enjoyed the storyline on Mad Men with Conrad Hilton. My partner was surprised to learn he started the company in Texas, with a hotel in a middle of nowhere small town. |

There was an ex-CMB RTW fare that was very nice - and very quiet. It seems that after the booking but before the actual issuing of the ticket humans get involved. And those humans apparently uncovered the missing digit.
I got a very polite German on the phone asking me what I wanted to do about it. I wasn't at a computer so I couldn't verify if my tickets were actually issued or not so I've delayed the inevitable a bit, but I believe that it is inevitable that this one will not fly, so to speak. Random question: Don't Y-UPs come from the AN bucket and EUA's from the R bucket? |

Yeah, I had no clue of the history either. The storyline has been a neat part of the season.
None of the historic landmark early Hiltons in Texas are still operated by the Hilton company though; a few are still open as hotels, including the Dallas property, which Intercontinental has now as a Hotel Indigo. The original hotel, in Frisco, Texas, is a local museum. |

Interesting. Just got an e-mail from Hilton about the new award charts. They also said they would be sending a free night certificate, good for categories 1-6 on the new chart, in a separate e-mail. Not thrilled about the increase in points, but I won't complain about the free night certificate either. That's a nice, unexpected bonus I'm sure we'll find a good use for sometime in the first half of 2010.

Y-Ups used to come from CU and will now come from FE as of next Tuesday. EUAs continue to come from R. I updated the FAQ about 90 minutes ago with the new ZN/ZE/FN/FE codes. |

The Texas roots are part of the reason the University of Houston has the Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, as well as the Hilton hotel on campus that's a training ground for students enrolled in that program.

Back during my Texas exploration days I would drive through Cisco for fun, there's tons of interesting things in the area. |

No and yes.

I still remember when Frisco was also a small town, kind of in the middle of nowhere — and that was less than 15 years ago. |
Looks like DL cancelled my award reservation without telling me!

You're saying I have to go back in there. Again. Why do people continue to insist on things that are simply not true?
