Good Morning, Box!

Coolish and dreary here right now. Hopefully it'll dry/warm/sun up a bit.

You know how many people sleep better at home than in a hotel, because they're more accustomed to sleeping at home? I'm the opposite. I often have less trouble sleeping in a hotel room than at home. And I prefer the comfort of many hotel beds to our own. We've both agreed that next year, it's time for a new bed.

I've done that before on flights I thought were a guaranteed upgrade for me — and ended up in the back while he was up front on a mileage upgrade. Oh well.

Good night, box.

You'll be there soon. I still have a few years, and since I'm doing UA right now, my MM status isn't really growing at the moment.

Chicago or Indianapolis. I was half asleep, but I think we were still under Chicago control at the time.

We went to bed at 11:00 last night and the alarm went off at 8:00 this morning. Nearly 9 hours of sleep and I feel so much better. Now it's time to go sell our other car. I came home last night to be greeted with the news that my partner has a serious buyer for the Civic, and she's scheduled to meet us at the bank today where he has his car loan with a check to pay it off and sign over the title. It only took 6 weeks after we listed it, and lowering the price $1500, but with any luck, by this afternoon we'll be a one car household.

Other big news at dinner last night — he has a potential job lead in San Francisco and they're trying to schedule a phone interview next week. Things may be about to get really interesting in our world.

I gave in and used 15K to upgrade EWR-SEA for myself also, so now were in F/BF all the way to NRT (EWR-SEA-IAH-NRT). I will roll the dice for the redeye home, but that would stink to miss the EUA on a redeye.

I am wishing I had that much, I even reset the alarm for an extra hour and still just got 4.5 hours sleep. ahhhh!

It would serve you right for not upgrading an eastbound redeye on a transcon. That is the most important flight around that needs a FC seat. Upgrading a daytime westbound may be optional for some, but IMO for the redeye it is mandatory.

Hell, I paid for the upgrade for my wife on a redeye ONT - IAH for the same reason.

After a couple of dozen SEA-EWR redeyes in the past couple of years, I only missed the upgrade once.
