DC-9 outbound, 319 return. Got the battlefield ghetto upgrade to the exit row on the ride home - somehow a very frail elderly woman was in the starboard side exit row by herself. :eek:

The stubby armrest poking into my hip sucked, but the legroom was much welcomed.

Is it really open? Do you have any first-hand reports? It is, you know, in Spain and almost nothing ever opens in time in that country.

We have it for the BooDoo at the end of the month but I have stayed double-booked at Le Meridien and will not cancel that one until I get an eyewitness account.

Her account is not all that different. So the redtails are complaining that many of the awards cost nearly double. So what? Why don't they just shut up and play the miles-inflation game?

The difference is that you are an ex-redtail that actually flies on business. Some of the leisure flying redtails will, in fact, take a beating because DL does not pay all that much attention to the low-fare crowd.

Also, earning miles with credit cards and shopping does not fit into the inflation scenario because they still only get the same amount of miles for those activities as they did before the SkyMiles "balloon to the moon" was launched.
