Y seats are  for several reasons. The Thompson cozy suite (I think that's what they're calling it) alleviate that problem because they stagget the seats. It's pretty smart because people are widest (generally) at the shoulders and not the seat. So, you stagger people and you get more shoulder room. The straight across row is pretty horrible.

Mixed emotions right now:

BA canceled the India fares claiming a pricing error.

I hooked up my new TV tonight. :D :D :D

Thoughts on my chances of winning a small claims case against BA for breach of contract?

I would just take a cab. Public transportation would require a bus to get to the nearest subway station.

If you really want to deal with public transportation, the directions on Google should be very helpful.

actually my hotel will pickup at airport, and drop at subway/train as well, so I am in good shape there!

IMO, its not worth the $35+ for the cab ride to midtown when you can pay $2.25 for the subway ride. I did this all the time when I lived in midtown and its really not that bad considering I was saving $35 each way by using my unlimited metrocard. Also, avoide Supershuttle and other bus type rides into the city because after the wait for them to pick you up and drop other people off you would be better off taking public transit. My average total transit time was only about 25-30 minutes longer than what a cab would take.

steph3n, if you or anyone else are coming in on a Friday night or on the weekend I wouldnt mind meeting up with you at the P-Club and taking you into the city via public transit. Because of the steep cost of the DO and MIL coming intown that night, I will not be able to attend but if any of you want to do something Friday night or Saturday afternoon I'd be game.

Other options just too pricey for me right now. i wanted to stay somewhere better, I have managed to avoid HIE and HI all year, but not now.

At least I have a suite in PDX :D

And on the other side of that coin, I'm spending tomorrow night and Wednesday night at the Fairfield Inn in Killeen for $79 per night. :D

I want to see how badly damaged a new HIE is...maybe I will be surprised.

That shouldnt be too difficult to get into the city via subway. Is it a prepaid rate? You might be able to get somehting in Long Island City next to Queens Borough Plaza for under $100/night. You would literally be 15 minutes from Times Square.
