Morning, Box. Thank for all the good wishes re: milestoning. Happy to be of service. :-:

I just dropped another bomb in the inconvenienced thread.

I love being on West Coast time. It gives me time to read The Box while everyone is asleep.
We won the football game 42-0. My son was put into the game a few times and he would have been thrown a pass if the quarterback hadn't been sacked. The defense scored a few times. Love those interceptions and blocked kicks for a run back.

We went to bed at 11:00 last night and the alarm went off at 8:00 this morning. Nearly 9 hours of sleep and I feel so much better. Now it's time to go sell our other car. I came home last night to be greeted with the news that my partner has a serious buyer for the Civic, and she's scheduled to meet us at the bank today where he has his car loan with a check to pay it off and sign over the title. It only took 6 weeks after we listed it, and lowering the price $1500, but with any luck, by this afternoon we'll be a one car household.
Other big news at dinner last night — he has a potential job lead in San Francisco and they're trying to schedule a phone interview next week. Things may be about to get really interesting in our world. |

What I find interesting about that situation, is that the poster checked his return flight/PNR. Most people don't even bother doing that. And those that do know how the system works and yet this poster didn't. Granted everyone that he talked to was wrong in not helping him and should have reinstated his PNR without all of those trips to/from the airport prior to his departure. I'm sort of shocked that someone who flies that much doesn't know "the system" and how to get around it. |

Wow, sounds nice. Hopefully they'll keep it that way. Unfortunately my experience in the past with Kroger has been stellar grand opening followed by continued decline starting as soon as the opening management team from corporate is no longer in the picture. But maybe this one will be different. Where is this nice store located?
And I know how you feel about the carts. I had to use one once after breaking a bone in my foot and walking in the store was just too painful. I hated it. Because it's the first of it's kind, I think there will be pressure to keep it wonderful, but once there are several, the focus won't be there. I'm happy to have a grocery store that is 2 min away instead of Randalls (and it's a small Randalls with stuff sometimes out of date) 8 min away and SuperTarget 10-15 min. away. Kroger Marketplace has hefty competition because a fancy Wal-Mart with wooden floors is about 5 mins from it and HEB Plus (which was the first of its kind when it opened) is maybe 8 mins away. There are 4 housing developments right around Kroger as well as a new one going up, so I think they'll do okay. It's on 99 at 359/Farmer Road. |

Congrats on finding a buyer for the car and the partners phone interview.
Maybe I'm wrong here; I don't have kids and I never had parents who could just buy me a car at that age. But if my parents bought me a car and I wasn't paying for anything but gas and insurance, I don't think I'd throw a screaming fit at them over a few very minor defects in the paint. If I did, I'd probably be told I can go back to driving Mom's car when it's available. This is the kind of thing that a brand new car is going to have on it within 90 days of purchase anyway. We're talking 3, maybe 4, small marks here. But, apparently Daughter rules the roost here. That whole concept is just so foreign to the way I was raised. |

I am somewhat bothered by the fact that I have yet to receive the promised presentation information for my mock presentation next week. Given that the hiring manager is out of the office for the first three days of the week, I am worried about missing my opportunity to learn the material and prepare correctly.

The occupants basically said "sh*t" but knew nothing could be done. The dude left quickly and a shouting match ensued between BF and GF with him calling her a Sl.t, tramp, wh*re. I chuckled at the time as at least he got it in alphabetical order.
Earplugs are your friends. I don't travel without them. |

It sounds like a really nice place to shop, and given that level of competition, and the neighborhood it's in, I doubt it will go downhill the way some of the others do. |
