I boarded my flight with the fiance this morning LGA-IAH and after we took off Shell_NYC recognized me when I got up to get my bag. What a small world.

I have a great butane torch for plumbing work that I use for creme brulee most of the time.

We have one under the kitchen sink that only gets used for cooking as well. My other half was in need of one for a dish he was making a few months ago, and was on the verge of going to an expensive gourmet kitchen supply store when I told him to just run down to the hardware store and get a plumber's propane torch. It does just as well at less than half the cost; and there's minimal, if any, difference in the kitchen versus plumbing versions of the device.

I'm back in SGN and my penthouse suite in the grand tower is amazing. I'm using the free wifi in the lounge until is closes and then I'm going to go use my bath and watch the flat screen and drink bubbly and hope I don't drown from falling asleep.

Tonight, I was waiting for my customers for dinner. I fell asleep in the desk chair. I received a phone call from them 15 minutes after we were to meet from dinner :o I have never done that! I'll be early for breakfast tomorrow.

Thanks! Didn't even realize that that was the magic post.

Indeed. So at 869 of 2,001, that makes my time in The Box 43.42% of my time on FT. Sounds about right. :D

I never need an explicit reason to go to Vegas. Although a Box bachelor party sure is one hell of a good explicit reason. :D I hear they have lots of good golf there too. I refuse to pay $500 for Shadow Creek, but I'll take the TPC Las Vegas or Bali Hai any day. And at the right time of year there are tons of "plane things" in Vegas...the Thunderbirds don't leave home for winter training, and they're based at Nellis. From January to March they're up over the city twice a day assuming weather minimums. They are the second-tier option for jet performance teams on many levels, but can still be fun to watch...kinda. (I was USAF for almost 7 years and I wear a Blue Angels-themed watch. Sums up my opinion.)

And yes, I still believe that US should be avoided at all costs. If the American airline industry can be generally termed ill, US is the AIDS equivalent. And I'm with sbm12: tis better to burn miles for something not so sexy than to watch them spiral down the toilet.

As a Chef I concur withthe plumbers torch being cheaper and the Chefs you speak of are Pastry Chefs of which I am not one. I do all other courses but can do some basic desserts.

Remember there is also the golf course off the south Strip accross from the new shopping center south of Bali Hai. Also I would play on the Wynn course if your like old Vegas as that course will be gone soon to convention space. Also recall that there is an airplane shop that is advertised in many of the commerical aviation magazines in LAS. Opened 6 days a week. The Airplane Shop www.airplaneshop.com.

I am thinking of doing a 1 day (no overnight) mileage run during my next trip to PBI over Labor Day weekend. It would be 2 new FlightMemory routes and I could always use the miles.

Have I lost it?

No. Just making others jealous (me included :))

Thanks for the advice. I have decided to burn 50K miles PHL-FLL. It cost me a grand total of $30 for the "free ticket." "Dividend Miles award processing fee" is a sham. It costs them pennies on the dollar to "process" that reservation. Bye, bye US.

I locked my first thread as a moderator today. Very exciting. :D

I need more to do some times. Then again, I didn't have to do much work today, so that is nice.
