Thank you - I am so glad you are on this board and that you are in the box :)
I'm okay now, but will probably get some dinner with the flight so late and if I can get a voucher, all the better.

Very interesting - I was unaware of this. When you get some time, can you post the details?

Okay, SFOGATE, another question for you. I'm a displaced F pax because of using miles for my HKG-EWR-IAH flight and my EWR-IAH waitlist did not clear. Since there is now availability of F for my flight, why wouldn't they go ahead and do my upgrade? Yes, I realize that CO would LOVE to sell that seat, but since they technically did "sell" that seat to me albeit with miles for my upgrade and the miles were used but did not come through, why wouldn't they process it? Enquiring minds want to know :)

Okay, now it's showing
Capacity: 16
Booked: 12 (plus 3 blocked seats)
Checked In: 12

I'll be at work tonight and will get a copy of this chart to post the details.

Why are there blocked seats in F on an EWR-IAH flight?

In my experience, this is usually an indication that Y is overbooked.

We do have a new policy labeled "Priority Standby for Businessfirst and First Class Waitless Customer" that went into effect on June 17. It's regarding extending the waitlist period for Onepass upgrades to the time of departure by adding customers OnePass upgrade itineraires, which did not clear the waitlist at the 24-hour mark to the airport standby list.

Is this what you are refering to? If so, it's suppose to be automatic.

I'm #1 on the standby list, so that's good, I'm just saying that if there are seats open in first (which there now are - and 3 blocked seats, which I don't understand on this flight but whatever) and I'm a displaced F pax, why haven't they cleared me if the flight is already at it's flight time? Surely they should have done that right?

Clarification/reminder please: fare went down on an existing itinerary - I'd have to pay the change fee to get the lower fare, and since the fare difference is less than $150, there's no point in trying. Am I missing anything?

Assuming it is more than 24 hours since the initial purchase, no, you aren't missing anything. You're stuck with what you paid.

Nope - you got it. Assuming the ticket was purchased more than 24 hours ago, you're stuck.

As flights get delayed they will not clear seats at the original departure time (or they're not supposed to, according to the EWR station manager I spoke with once) so as to be able to accommodate mis-connects and other situations. That would explain why you haven't been cleared yet.

Thanks, fellas. Just what I thought. We had T fares for MCO and L opened up...per person difference, while sizable, doesn't justify the fee.

Happy Monday morning, Box! I have 4 weeks to buy and design this website...and when I'm off she's almost always around...
