Typically the reason you are charged per soda in Europe is because they sell drinks by the can or bottle and don't have fountain or gun supplied sodas which is were the cost savings is at.

I'd expect it in Europe, I wouldn't over here - we're the land of free refills!

There is a very sweet show called Ruby about a lady who has lost over 100 lbs. She is a lovely southern belle (from Savannah) and watching it just makes me root for her. It doesn't have the hard edge a show like The Biggests Loser has and I do believe I'm hooked. I am a reality junky!

Unfortunately, visiting MSP, CLT, DFW, DEN and PHX don't provide the most exciting lounge options. PClubs, RCCs and US clubs for me...

I also have a short layover in SFO, but no time to visit a lounge there as I have to move from T3 to T1.

I found US Clubs to be fairly nice inside. I thought they were much nicer on the inside than typical RCCs...

Probably a stupid question but does BD status match CO Golds to BD Gold? Even if they match me to Silver, I could get the extra 22,000 miles by simply flying a couple of mistake Q-UPs.

DCA is by far the nicest in the system. Because its the newest. I also like the one in terminal F'ed in PHL. The pics you have are from the one that runs over the food court, which isn't too bad, but is often in dis-repair. LGA isn't bad either, but that's fixin to change to a SkyPub one of these days when DL and US do the terminal swap.

What killed me about US Clubs is how chincy they were. Cash bar. Cash wi-fi. Cash everything. They'd patrol the no food rule like hawks, but never have anything out except, maybe, pretzels.

They've moved away from that model (except for cash bar) and I think have gotten a bit better. But, I haven't been in one in a couple years.

The clubs in RDU, PHX, and especially LAS were an absolute joke.

You're watching an old episode - she's down almost 400 pounds now. I don't watch, fiancee does. She was also on Rachael Ray this morning.

Local charity has cut my trivia questions down to the 20 that will be displayed on event night, and done so one week early. ^ And to boot, there were only two minor changes requested that I have already done.

I'm actually impressed. They are nicer than the average RCC.

Am curious to see what teh Element brand is like this weekend. I haven't been overwhelmed with Aloft, but hopefully Element is an improvement (I should hope so, considering that all rooms are suitelets with mini-kitchens).

For those of you that have a PClub membership and are currently *G through BD - are you going to renew your PClub membersip or just use *G for your club access? Besides being able to access a PClub when you aren't flying a Star carrier (or not flying at all), is there any real advantage to paying for a membership after CO joins Star?

Does *G allow lounge access for domestic itineraries if the *G program that one uses for access is from a US-based airline? For instance, can UA 1Ps and above access RCC's when traveling domestically?

I agree. The US Club at DCA is especially nice.

Have you sampled teh Envoy Lounge at PHL? If so, how was it?

I don't get kitchenettes in hotels. If you're staying for more than a week (which is the demo they're apparently going after) I can understand it, but for a day or two, I don't need / want a kitchenette. It just attracts nastiness which is what I try and avoid, more than anything, when I stay in a hotel.

A microwave and a mini-fridge is way more than I ever need.
