Does anyone know about parking at HPN? I'd ask belynch but I don't think he's back yet.

In other news, there is a billboard promoting ACY just south of EWR on the TPK. Shouldn't ACY be advertising in their own neck of the woods?

Trying to pull pax away from EWR. CAK has done the same near CLE for a couple years, funded by Airtran.

Morning Box.

Getting ready to start Day 2 of my 3-day, 8-hours a day software training class - delivered via WebEx and phone. At least I'm at home, with dual monitors and a laptop, so I can do productive things during the class... ;)

No flying this week, but a quick trip back to FTW next week, then off to AUA. There are still 2 open seats in F - so I'm holding out hope on that mileage upgrade.

A bit slow in the CO forum this morning.

Ten minutes until my  phone interview for a position that requires Java but does not say that in the job posting. We'll see what happens.

How was Bob's?

Thanks, they're now late in calling me.

Bob's was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals I've had in quite some time; thanks again for the recommendation. ^

Perhaps the Kettle twice-a-year leisure crowd will slog down to ACY to take advantage of Airtran, but the high-yield North and Central Jersey business crowd won't be willing to do such, especially with the international and domestic prime market convenience that EWR offers. Airtran at CAK, on the other hand, offers much more competitive options on prime business routes and is a viable alternative to the CLE business traveler, especially those on the south side of town.

Fingers still crossed but at the same time jealous of your destination. :D

I want to go somewhere the only problem is that I wouldnt be able to be back at work on Monday from here. :( Perhaps I can call in sick from Calgary. Knowing my luck I would be detained by Canadian Security team. BTW, has anyone tried the SDC rule on weekend fares?

I just can't imagine the 2 hours drive to ACY. It would be one thing if ACY had more options, but I think it's just F9 and NK.

Plus with B6, JFK is pretty competitive as far as pricing.

Phone screen complete. Apparently my argument of not needing to know how to write code in a particular programming language to effectively work with development teams was successful and I've been passed off to a hiring manager who, incidentally, was not consulted about what specifics he wanted for this position prior to me being called.

I'm told I should hear something by the end of the week, which should cover the span of time between the end of the week and the end of Mayan calendar.:p

There is a small parking garage there. I think they are often full though.

I saw her on campus a couple of times and that was the first thing that occurred to everyone...she seems to be listed in several places as 5'3" but that seems hard to believe!

Well, the party is coming to an end... In just a few minutes, we start the long journey home. A 1 hour car ride to HKT, then HKT-BKK-ICN-NRT-DTW-EWR. Fortunately, it will include my first looks at the TG F, newer KE J and NW J (and my first ride on a 744 upper deck). If TG won't check our bags all the way through to DTW, we're going to be scrambling a bit in BKK - keeping my fingers crossed!

The LM Khao Lak has been excellent. It was just what we needed after running around Seoul, Sydney and Bangkok for a week and a half. The ocean front villa was amazing but I'm not so sure the service here completely matched the room. Perhaps my expectations were a little too high though... The spa here is also incredible - I had the best hot stone therapy massage of my life yesterday - 75 minutes for about $35!

Glad you had fun - sounds like an amazing trip. Enjoy the trip home, upper deck and all! ^

Also, once you get into "Central" Jersey, PHL starts to be an option as well - and they're often VERY competitive with EWR, pricing-wise (even if you have to then factor in parking costs).

I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I have found some really good places in Fort Worth, and am actually glad I'll be traveling down there through March 2010 - so I can partake in good steak frequently ;)
