One of the largest advantages of TMo (and in the early days, one of my most frequent uses). ;) I'm off-contract now - November is two years - and loving it.

Yep, it's a really nice feature to have for no additional charge for the times I really need it. It has saved me more than once when there was no other connection option available.

If you head south after leaving Eppley, you're in Iowa (without crossing the river). Driving from Qwest Center to Eppley crosses Iowa. Our Nebraskans could tell you why Iowa took part of their state.

I know why too - something about a river flood in 1877...Supreme Court ruling held that the resulting land was Iowa.

In the mid to late 1950s, my family would vacation in Miami every winter and we would drive from NY to FL. At that time, I-95 ended in Washington DC and it was US 1 for the rest of the trip. One place we passed through going and coming was SOTB. At that time it was a gas station and beanery that sold schlock in the middle of nowhere. The reason I remember it is Pedro and the billboards (if you wished to call 4x8 painted plywood by the side of the road a "billboard") which started 150 miles before you reached the site. At that time, going 45 MPH, that was a lot of billboards. We actually did stop there usually to use the restrooms and buy gas and I am sure they got some money out of my mother for the schlock. BTW, I think the signs started around 150 miles from the site, but I am not certain.

The state employee discount helps you out there. I'm running at about $85/month now for 650 minutes, unlimited messaging, BIS, and HotSpot access. The HotSpot access for the time being is still getting charged back to work as part of my monthly Internet expenses, along with the Internet service at home.

Guess I've just been spoiled by UMA access on my personal BlackBerry. And I've found Wi-Fi to still be consistently faster than 3G wireless for web browsing. Granted it's not always available, but when it is, it does make a difference.

Sigh. Just booked AUS-DEN-AUS on F9 (2hrs each way) because I just don't have enough time to spend making the jaunt down to IAH and changing planes (4.5hrs each way). Even with DEQM. I'm so depressed. ;)
