So a visa would be required.
Of course, this all depends on whether it is possible to do an airside international transit in DME from SQ to one of the airlines operating to KBP, without ever passing through an immigration checkpoint. If there is a terminal change involved, you would need at least the Transit Visa. |

I'm considering just getting the Russian Visa to be able to connect via Minsk (Belavia) and Kaliningrad (KD Avia).

Does anyone have any experience with the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel? At 3,000 points a night it seems like a steal.

Ooookay. I'm not going to go back through 8000 pages to find the original reference for this one.
Would you forebear a brief context briefing, sir?

Wow, I left the Box for an hour and all this. I was too busy keeping up the running conversation earlier to announce what might possibly be the weirdest thing yet to happen in my life: I'm going to be a character in a kids' book. This is more proof that being a concierge might well be the coolest job in the world.
A woman came up to my desk asking questions about AC, and I dutifully went thru all of them, giving good answers. She later says that she's asking because she is a freelancer who is doing the continuation of the Hardy Boys. Long story short, the publisher wants the Hardys (who now work for some sort of mystery-assigning consortium that kinda positions them as mercenaries, never mind that they have not aged and are still 18) to have an adventure set in Atlantic City. Apparently because of my stellar help, Joe and Frank Hardy will now have an interaction with a concierge that is somehow integral to the plot.

This is an insanely strange story. Congrats on this, too, I think.

Thanks, that's what I said. When I told my mother and girl that this had happened, I was greeted with dead silence. My mother called my desk at just the right time, and the author came back to ask a question...author overhears that I'm talking about the book, and offers to back up the story to my mother on the phone. What the hell, it can't get any more weird. Sure, talk to my mother.
Oh, yeah - the kicker. The concierge in the book will be named after me. ETA: I forgot this too...I told the author that she should work in a James Bond reference just for fun. (She was at my desk for close to an hour.) Because the Hardys are perpetually 18, she told me she's going to have them order milkshakes that are shaken and not stirred. Disclaimer: I'm sober. I did not make any of this up. |

See the posts below - at 40 posts per page, these appeared way back on Page 97 on The Box.
To the point, very cool. Depending on what your character is/does, maybe you can start your own spin-off series. ACY is a pretty dramatic venue, after all. The Mob, the Donald, the buses full of nickel pushers streaming in from north Jersey. Not to mention streets with names we all are familiar with from Monopoly. |

No, those aren't terrible fares - I was referring to the routings that require a Russian visa. Either way, close to $1k for winter TATL travel makes for expensive FM lines... :)

Given AA's recent announcement, maybe we should pool our OnePass miles and sell them to Citibank!

Happy Anniversary to Me
23 years ago I began my career at Continental Airlines in Honolulu. I have also worked in DCA and currently I'm at SFO. It's been quite a ride and one that I have totally enjoyed. |

A billion dollars of wholesale miles. I wonder just how many that is...
In other crazy economic news, the EUR is on another up leg: 1.477 overnight, and 1.475 now. Not because of that, I've got to do some work. Later... |
