Doing those things in a plane is a big no no. I had a lady painting her nails on an IAH-ATL flight a few months ago. We were in row 1. The FA in the back galley came all the way up to the front trying to find who had the nail polish out, because passengers in the very back of the plane were gagging on the fumes. She couldn't understand why this was a problem.

And people who smell like they bathed in perfume or cologne are equally bad.

I am guilty, I was going to get banned if I posted what I really thought. SooooI was very restrained! :D

no it isn't a nono, it is great and normal behavior don't you know it. it is a personal option, and I paid for that seat, air, space, floor and bulkhead wall recliner. it is MINE MINE MINE!

I'm not excusing them, but the average person does not realize that the air inside a plane is (mostly) not exchanged.

Given the crap I see with hotel rooms and rental cars on a regular basis, it's obvious a lot of people are not just slobs, but they have no problem with abusing, damaging, or destroying the property of others. It's evident the people in that thread don't care. Some people are just disgusting and have no class.

If we used the govt for the example of everything Bernie Madoff would still be taking money and paying people their 'returns' from that money, just like social Security. Companies would have complex fees assessed to invoices just because they wanted to with no accounting for them (taxes), and much more but let's not go p/R land.

True, but to me, it doesn't matter. It's not a beauty salon. There's a time and place for everything. Flying with a few hundred other people is not the time nor the place for nail polish, perfuming yourself, clipping toenails, or changing your kid's diaper in the aisle or on a tray table at your seat (there's a reason changing tables are in the lav). It's about being respectful of other people, which some people apparently have a huge problem with.

Now, while I'm still feeling buzzed, but not drunk, would be the perfect opportunity for the 5 page e-mail I need to send our Project and Account Managers about the BS I've been dealing with, and why we're still months behind schedule.

And this lounge, on the 20th floor of the Marriott, with the sun blaring in, and 100°+ heat index outside = hotter than a CO widebody with a lead flight attendant who weighs 90 lbs. and starts freezing to death if the temperature drops below 78°. I may have to move this party to my room.
