It's the only non-clear liquor that appeals to my palate. My dislike of gin is well-documented here, and I gave bourbon a shot only to be disappointed. I can do rum in certain situations...usually on a party boat and that's about it. When all else fails, the occasional light white wine will be seen in my hand. Preferably pinot grigio. I'm not big on strong booze taste, as I much prefer strong food taste.

Oh, rats. I just missed CM, it looks like. I just had to shoot an apparently distempered racoon. The lab was sounding an alarm bark that he only uses when he has something live. A little ways away, in an oak grove, he was circling round and round the 'coon, backed against a tree trunk, who would have (should have) climbed in that circumstance.

At night outside, I carry a 6.5" barrel 22 magnum Ruger. At 1500 fps and 175 fp energy, that's more than enough gun for anything except hogs. Called the dog to me, and light in one hand, pistol in the other, dispatched it from about 20 feet.

Sick or not, threat to the animals or not, I still don't like the feeling of taking a life. Never have, never will. Now, I'm going to have a little bourbon and go to bed.

I get to experience DL's 77L (only have the 737-700 & 764 w/lie flats left) and make it home from LA ~ 20 hours after I leave!
