An apt description of a normal baseball season for me. Somewhere deep down in me, there is a Mets fan. My family have been Mets fans for three generations. But once I discovered hockey, every other sport seems slow and watered down in comparison.

I agree because i want plat, and without DEQM I won't get to 100K but will get to 75K ;)

and I really DON'T want DEQM, I see no corporate benefit from it at all.

Good morning box.

Skip MLA. Not very exciting at all. If you insist on going, don't stay more than 2-3 days. You'll want to pluck your toenails out.

Good to know. I'll just substitute SPU, then.

If the change to NW upgrades means "NW will no longer process upgrades for CO elites after October 1," (meaning that CO elites no longer are in the EUA queue after October 1) I could possibly be upgraded, since the Platinum upgrade window opens before the October 1 cutoff. If the policy means "Northwest will no longer upgrade CO elites on NW flights flying on or after October 1," then I'll be in the back. At least I've already got a reclining exit row seat for that flight. It may be the first time I've seen Y on a NW DC-9 since 1994.

You should have just comped to NW Plat a few months ago, like I did. It is only valid until March 2010, but it does not count against your once-in-a-lifetime status match to DL, and they are offering crazy RDM bonuses right now.

I hope CO allows Plat to remain at 75k for one more year before raising it to 100k.

I've crossed 100K EQM the past few years, so would welcome the change if it comes with truly enhanced benefits (SWUs, or something equally ^). Hopefully I can bag MMer by the end of 2011, as it would be nice to have a guaranteed soft-landing for lean years. 2MMer is looking very promising as lifetime *G. Hopefully CO is still around a decade hence.

That's not true. CO has said it is not changing the tier levels for the 2010 program. Furthermore, it has given no indication that it intends to change them subsequent to 2010.

It seems that all of Russia is still included in Europe ;)

The loss of EQMs on that handful of EK flights is probably due to the fact that UA already serves DXB, as well as KWI. I wouldn't be surprised to see CO trying to route DXB bound passengers on UA's flights.

On the whole, the changes are not bad at all. I'm sorry to see some of the redemption rates going up, but 50k->55k and 100k->105k on US->Europe is still pretty reasonable.

Removing the European program's extra RDM/EQM may have interesting repercussions.

Yeah, I thought so. Any airline that claims their alliance partner's hubs as their own has some mild form of personality disorder.

They are quite full of themselves. All of their marketing in the Atlanta area tends to be based on being the biggest airline, flying out of the busiest airport in the world, which just happens to be right there in Atlanta. It's quite fitting though, as my impression of Atlanta, especially the natives, is that it considers itself to be far more important to the world than it really is.

If you are restricted to TATL as the routing for Russia, I wonder if U.S.-Europe-ICN-VVO will price out as a standard Russia reward. :D

Yawn is right. Football bores me. I sort of enjoyed high school football as a kid only for the social aspect (everyone in town was at the game) and watching the bands perform. Other than that, the game was a huge blah. I still don't get what the big deal about it is.

The last time I really liked that place was when I was about 8 or 9… before I knew better.

There are much, much better places for good seafood out there.
