That would be nice, although Marriott's already doing the elite qualifying night rollover thing. I've almost wrapped up my Marriott Platinum renewal — but going after their Megabonus promotion will push me over and give me about 15 nights toward 2010 to roll over.

Awesome! This will definitely help me get a nice head start on next year for SPG.

Off to print Olton Hall's wiring guide. I have no doubt of my ability to follow instructions and set the wires correctly...so the only remaining problem is navigating the menus of the components in order to successfully enable the right settings.

Copa headquarters called. I told them they didn't need to send an AVOD tech, as The Box was doing it for me.

I'm hoping my partner is close enough to Gold to qualify. His work travel is highly seasonal — busy in the late fall through early spring, but mostly non-existant the rest of the year. He's close to SPG Gold based on his spring stays with them, but hasn't had a stay since April.

A little catsup and I bet it taste as good as new.

Didn't you hear about DL's new lie flat BusinessElite seating on the MD-88? It's bringing a renewed sense of style and sophistication to air travel on routes like ATL-GSP/CHS/HSV/SAV.

Yeah, I was all excited about the rollover night thing too, until Marriott granted me Plat early. I'm at 48 nights right now and planned to renew Gold for this year, then rollover my 15 credit card nights and additional stays to next year and hit plat through 2012. Now that I am already plat, I'll need nights over 75 for CY2009 to get any to rollover, which is not likely given my current lack of a job.

Based on my thoughts above, I am seriously considering getting a status match to SPG. I'll still have Marriott platinum status through February of 2011 and I think I can requal for SPG Plat on 25 stays in a year fairly easily. My only concern, then, is of property coverage and ability to find SPG properties in many of the smaller locales I go to.

It's hard to beat Louisiana when it comes to corruption and just general incompetence. I'm dreading my return to work there next week, and just wish my project in that state was over with and behind me. Unfortunately it still has a minimum of four months to go; quite possibly longer. I'm praying after this I never get assigned to work with a public institution in that state ever again.

Any suggestions of great hotels in Brussels and/or Amsterdam (or points in between those two) that are a great place to burn SPG, Marriott, or Hilton points? It's looking like our Thanksgiving trip may involve flying into BRU and out of AMS a week later.
