Right now the plan is ATL-EWR-BRU, a few nights in Brussels, train to Den Haag, night or two there, then the rest of the week in Amsterdam. Return flight would be AMS-DTW-ATL.

The LM BRU is pretty good , I got suite upgrades every time I was there as a plat, and it is right across the street from the central train station.

I don't do hostels. Ever.

Even skipping the hostel route (and I was on a VERY tight budget earlier this year :o) there are plenty of reasonably priced 3* hotels all over Europe. No, you don't have the potential of a free suite, but you get a free breakfast even as a nobody who shows up with a few euro to pay and the rooms are generally fine. They aren't great. They aren't a typical room that you'd find in the USA. But that's fine with me since I'm actually in Europe. I also spend such a small amount of time in my room while on the road - even less of it sober or coherent - that I really just need a shower and a bed. WiFi is a nice bonus, too. But I'll pass on paying the 40-100% markup for a major US brand in Europe or Asia. Just not worth it.

Good point. Unfortunately for me I booked all mine for next year.

Interesting, I have an exec who is 2P only and got the promo. Another one who is 1P did not.

Why is it so effing hard to find postcards in this world??

I never found it a problem. I think that you're so focused on being the anti-tourist that you don't go to the places that have them, namely touristy places. :-:

Accor has an excellent selection of 3* Hotels to choose from in Europe. Mercure, Ibis and (some) Novotels come to mind.

I don't listen to 101.5 anymore. I followed Carton to WFAN and listen to him and Boomer in the morning, so now I listen to WFAN in the afternoon by default. :o The guy that replaced Carton was pretty , I don't know how he is now, though.

I'm the opposite. Didn't like Carton, and love Casey, his replacement. I don't listen to WFAN because they willfully ignore hockey and I despise Mike Francesa and how the downfall of Imus was orchestrated. I enjoy listening to Anthony's from O&A's impression of Mad Dog more than I do the real Mad Dog. I know they're not together anymore, but how badly Dog got screwed at Francesa's hand just grates my cheese.

Absolutely unsubstantiated theory.

With all of the bizarro-ness going on with CO.com these days with bugs (especially related) to EUA's I'm going to place money that we're going to see a substantial overhaul of the nOnePass program sometime in the very near future (probably in tune with the transition to Star).

New Zealand has some very nice hostels. I don't think it is particularly wise to summarily foreclose on the possibility of staying in one or two of them.
