I agree, I was saying that making it the hub or those two routes were not probable. IAH-AKL would probably happen before IAh-SYD, but I don't see AKL happening anytime soon either.

<bows> -- Thank you, sir. What little I know of you from time spent on Smith Street is that you are just as much a fan of fine wordplay as I. ^^

Good morning, Box.

All this food talk is making me hungry. While we are on food and NYC. I have to entertain someone in NYC for lunch and dinner 9/14- 9/18. Any decent, affordable, recomendations in Manhattan. Nice, not dead, but not trendy, you know comfortable. Oh if anyone is in NYC is up for diner, that week let me know.

Off to Home Depot and Lowes.

YES we need that for the other thread.

IAH-ICN?

I won't hold my breath for it, but it sure would be nice to have another nonstop option to Asia. KE manages to make DFW work somehow, perhaps OZ could make IAH work.

Right. I don't see anything happening to AKL or SYD from IAH for quite a while. I'm not entirely certain that IAH-LAD-JNB would be out of the question, though. LAD is pretty close to the great-circle path from IAH-JNB, and SA might decide it wants to poach World/Sonair's business on IAH-LAD (they certainly have a J product worthy of competing). Both the A342 and A346 have the range to do IAH-LAD nonstop.

I thought IAH-CDG was being eliminated and replaced by IAH-FRA?

You are being completely reasonable. Some people have the perspective that miles are some sort of freebie or gift, bestowed upon you by the benevolent airline, and aren't worth crap compared to cold hard cash. Well, the airline created the miles as a form of currency and benefits immensely from making those miles worth something, otherwise they wouldn't do it. At the very least, the use of miles removes a liability from their books, which is why it is more valuable to the airline than an EUA, and often the airline did actuallly receive cash for those miles from a credit card company.

I was unaware of any plans to terminate IAH-CDG. Both CO and AF have operated that route for years, even before teaming up in SkyTeam.

I am not sure what kind of route authorities are involved here but that looks nice :)

Nor do I, not at all. Continuance of said offer noted, and thank you again. That is a significant logistical issue very easily solved. I already know the courses I want to play: all 54 holes at Oxmoor Valley (36 full-length and an 18-hole par-3 course) and there's always the option of Ross Bridge.

IAH-LAD is already flown several times per week by World/Sonair's special Charter service. You can't buy tickets, though. Only Energy Company employees that work for companies having a contract with World/Sonair get to ride. Apparently the MD-11 is operated as 3-Class, with pretty nice F and C sections.
