Ooh -- I wonder if it's still there. A quick search shows it as being at 1194 Englishtown Rd, Old Bridge, NJ but a search of that address shows a place there called Race Zone Bar & Grill. Another dive into the world of search reveals this... the liquor license was transferred in 2005. If the new place has great pizza I'll go, but I'm not convinced it does.

Welcome to the world of the IAH-based flyer. EZE is about the only longhaul nonstop (with the exception of seasonal GIG) that IAH has, which EWR does not. You try to go to EZE, you likely gotta try to get there with at least a few NYC-IAH segments (good luck finding saver F availability).

The transition to :-: will actually be worse for IAH-based flyers seeking international nonstops. With SkyTeam, we could choose between CO, AF, and KL for longhaul nonstops. Now it will just be CO and LH (SQ's IAH-DME isn't daily and doesn't connect through an alliance hub). I hope other :-: carriers will look into launching service to IAH (or at least add IAH-MUC on LH).

IAH-ZRH on LX would be ^. One can dream...

As of 30 November, you'll have IAH-YUL. I was going to say more than that, but the overwater options out of there kinda suck.

I'd like to see IAH-ZRH/GVA, IAH-MUC, IAH-SYD/JNB (not gunna happen for a LONG TIME!)...ya let us just make IAH the star hub of the world.....also not going to happen but hey, one can dream :)

IAH-YYZ is actually fine, as there is a late bank of flights from YYZ to Europe (so you can depart IAH around 04:30pm on a Friday and still connect to Europe). However, AC almost never has award availability YYZ-Europe on those late flights.

IAH-FRA availability has been excellent on LH to date. I suspect that will change after the :-: transition. It would be very nice to see one of the Asian carriers tag IAH (OZ or CA, perhaps). I doubt NH would give it a go, as CO already operates IAH-NRT.

The last time it happened, I seriously considered going to AA, just because of the JFK-EZE nonstops.

I don't think IAH-MUC is beyond the realm of possibility. LH might throw an A343 at it, just to see what happens.

IAH-MUC has a decent chance of happening...FRA is already announced...LON/CDG/AMS are staying. One can get nearly anywhere else in the world from those cities and NRT. That would satisfy me, anyway.

I also don't want to abandon the BHM idea....there are some great courses down there and it could be a great trip (my rental car offer still stands by the way).

Ah Vitales. My band actually used to play there years ago so I knew the place well. The owner (Linda Vitale) sold it a few years ago and yes, it is now Race Zone (it's got a Nascar theme but to me it sounds more like a deodorant). I haven't heard anything about their pizza and haven't even been in the place for years (they don't pay bands enough for us to want to lug our gear in there).
