It's quite fitting though, as my impression of Atlanta, especially the natives, is that it considers itself to be far more important to the world than it really is.

People in Pittsburgh think they are far more important to the world too. Don't they know that NYC is the center of the Universe? Well that's what native New Yorkers tell me at least.

I live in fly over country :D

my understanding is there is NYC, and LA, everything in between is a useless blur.

I completely agree, but I've stopped getting their seafood. Believe it or not, they make a spicy chicken pasta that is quite decent.

That last part could transition easily to a CNN reference, but I'm too lazy to think it up and write it.

Yep. It always cracks me up when i hear some of the people I know in Atlanta badmouthing other parts of the US, or other citizens of other countries, and then I later find out that this person's travel experience outside of Georgia is limited to Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, and maybe Virginia. And if there's been any international travel, there's a 99% chance it's Cancun or the Bahamas.

What's the deal in Pittsburgh with cookie service at wedding receptions? I went to a wedding there (fiancee's family) and the couple found out that there would be a cookie course at their reception. When the family asked the hotel hosting the reception about this, they got a very blah answer of "It's a Pittsburgh thing". What the hell kind of answer is that?

I have a close-minded douche like that who is regrettably entering the fiancee's clan next year. He's marrying one of her cousins. This is the guy who said:

"Formula One is not a sport. Those guys should try driving the Turnpike every day."

I'm certainly not anti-donuts. And I've been known to enjoy watching football on TV at friends' houses, mainly due to the social/food/beer aspect. The game itself does nothing for me.

Well, I have an introductory phone interview in five minutes. We'll see what happens.

That city has a ways to go on improving customer service. They are blah about everything. A conversation could go like this.

You: "What's in the deluxe chicken pot pie?'
Them: "Chicken"
You: Anything else makeing it different than the regular chicken pot pie?"
Them: "Crust"
You: "What's different about the crust?"
Them: "Different recipe."

There are easier ways to see otters than walking uphill for 13 miles.
