And the worst part is that I try to explain to her what the noises are and what the pilot is doing, and it doesn't mean much to her in the end. I even offered her my copy of Ask the Pilot. Hopefully the RJ that morning is a CHQ with the really abrasive brakes. Any sound that perceives to her as out of the ordinary will be that much more fun for me.

Awesome, that's good to know. After much digging, i found some roundabout discount I can get thru one of my clients, though it's still $80 a month which seems steep compared to by $26/month membership back in CA. :(

I miss Charlie. I'm never through IAH these days when he's working — or if I am, I'm stuck in Terminal B. :(

I have yet to experience Charlie's tasty beverages. Everytime i've been in IAH it seems like i'm making a mad dash to my next flight.

I am so jealous. I had an 8am flight to EWR this morning and a slew of things I needed to wrap up since I'm headed to DUB on Tuesday so out of fear of oversleeping and the need to get stuff done, i pulled an all nighter. I think i'm too old for this crap.

Today I had a first on my SAN-EWR flight. Sitting in 1F, i was one of the first folks to board, right behind a gentleman in 2A. A few mins later, the woman for 1B comes on board and starts asking who's bags are in the bin above her. She insisted that this was her space, since the tag said 1A/1B and that who ever's bags they are, should be moved. The guy in 2A started fighting back, the FA interjected with a "they are first come, first serve". All that, and they took us off the plane due to a two hour ATC hold. We all get off the plane and then they announce we got cleared so we all had to get right back on. But, even with all that, we still got to EWR at our scheduled time and in more amazement, by the time i got down to baggage claim, my bag was already out and whizzing by.

For the geeks in the box, i popped into Comic-Con this weekend, being the true insane that it is. Though, I was able to snap up a few pics and i'm hoping to put them up some time this week.

I have some friends who were there this weekend.

Monday morning here I come, Annoy-a-tron(tm) deployed. Time to start the week off right with a little cube warfare.

Is anyone else excited by the EK A380 details getting announced today?

In-flight shower facilities (F only), a bar area (F/J shared), slidey-seats in Y with adjustable headrests and, of course, the F suites can be shared for a pair traveling together.

Of course I have no delusions of being able to secure a flight with my OP points, but if someone else finds a way I'll be booking very shortly thereafter. :D

I'm not sure what alliance they would go with if they ever decide to go that route, but I have my doubts as to whether they would go with *A (too many cooks in the kitchen, and QR has been cultivating close ties with many *A carriers). However, HKG-SFO on SQ is looking like the next SQ A380 route deployment. If one were to find F availability on that route for 2009 using BD miles, there's a good chance you could find yourself in an SQ Suite come flight time...

Hmm - the WC agent just announced the boarding of a NW flight to "Skip-all" airport.

Ha! It took me a day to figure that one out. I've always called it sh*t-poll.

I love the Dutch though. They're so gangly and amusing. Kind of like big Canadians with lots of waffles.

Sure, but no in-flight showers, so why bother. :D :p

I have a lot of reading to do...

I'm back and I've survived a fantastic wedding and honeymoon. I'll try to write-up a trip report with some pictures.

The flight between IAH-BZE was a little disappointing, as was the gate service in IAH, so I may write a letter to CO with the help of The Box. I will explain later ;)

Time to start reading the thread.

AMS ain't so bad. It's easy enough to make somewhat tight connections there (compared to CDG and LHR, especially), and given enough rope (time), one could find multiple ways to hang themselves in the city on a longer connection.

Glad to hear the honeymoon was a blast. I have already threatened to take lots of trip-report photos on ours, which was met with a hearty .

Oh, I agree. AMS, for EU airports, is one of the better ones. The phonetic pronunciation of the name is what has me callin' it that.

In other news, my hatred of Chase is slightly diminished. I received a phantom auto finance bill  and when I called them up to question it I was tossed into their new voice activated system. I hate these systems. I think the idea behind them is phenomenal, but the execution always leaves me wanting to put my head through a wall.

Anyway, I enter my account number, no problem, and before it transfers me to a rep it starts in on some sales pitches. I say "shut up" and it says "sorry about that. Let me transfer you." @:-)

Some programmer out there deserves a beer. :-:

I am sure we did at some point. There has to be a relevant post in there somewhere.

Also, the Cab they serve here tastes like cheap grape juice. Oh how I long for some premium wines...

Yes, they serve Fetzer at most WC's. Just barely a step up from a Rossi jug.
