Sounds about right. I'm guessing that you are thinking of the hotel/apartment building across the road from the beach with the big gap in the middle to allow the dragon to come down from the hills to the beach. It looked nice but I didn't go inside.

That sounds like the place.

Back from the Big D. Thanks to all of you for your birthday wishes; it was a good one. :)
The Dallas Renaissance didn't exactly wow me (no suite, no big deal though) and I am becoming increasingly despondant at the lack of detail reguarding my personal profile (extra pillows and towels) at full service properties. Anywho, dinner at Bob's was absolutely amazing. Surrounded by people who clearly had a lot more money than I do, but I got the same food they were getting and it was great.
This morning we stopped in Waco so I could take my wife through the Dr. Pepper museum and get a cane sugar Dr. Pepper float. Good times; now back to looking for a job.

Glad you had such a great birthday and weekend! I agree that MR has gotten increasingly bad about ignoring the profile. I will get the extra towels at a few (and I mean few) properties, but the extra pillows are few are far between. Glad Bob's was such a wonderful dinner and lived up to expectations!

They require tennis shoes? I've never heard of that. Is that so they don't have to change for recess?

I guess. I thought I heard tennis shoes or rubber soled shoes but the sheet they gave us clearly states "TENNIS SHOES ONLY". There goes all the cute shoes I've bought her. I guess those will be her out to dinner/weekend/holiday shoes . She has plenty of tennis shoes or shoes that I think will pass for tennis shoes. I think that if they wear shoes that aren't going to fall off at recess (I get no flip flops) or that they can run in, but I guess I need to deal with all these new rules.

She has a (at last check) 101.4 degree fever. We don't want to subject her or the pax to her right now. Unfortunately, the ticket wasn't bought in V class, so no refund. Change fee is $150 + difference in ticket price? What if the new fare is less?

Poor thing! I hope she feels better soon! You were right to keep her home. There's always a possibility you can get a medical waiver when you tell them she was so sick she couldn't fly and will be going to the drs. I haven't had to cancel very often because of it, but I do know there was one time I was able to cancel with a drs. note. They made a note in the res. and when I rebooked the agent was able to see it.
