I seem to only get promotions that are related to "card currently out-of-favor" - I have cards that I run through as I hit various bonuses each year. For instance, my AA card was only used for cable for six months, then I got an AA promotion based upon number of purchases in the spring, which meant AmEx was only used for groceries/gas/drug stores, then I got a bonus from AmEx, then I reached an award tier on the AmEx, then I cycled to my Driver's Edge Charter card ...

What the hell happened with CO's BF sale fares? Yesterday, the chart indicated that EWR-AMS was $400 one-way; now it's $1330 roundtrip?

Remember - popularity/investors are fickle. Little has changed about the company's plan (it's a paper/paperboard company) or revenue since it was a 24 cent stock earlier this year. Think I'll sell a few shares.

Government fines have a way of changing the way airlines do business.

I never saw the EWR-AMS for $400 each way - that would be excellent. If you find that fare, I might join in.

Probably a mistake that was missed. When I was catching up last night I read your post about it being available for $800 I doubled checked the list and I didn't see it near that price. :-:

Would CO really help DL when they are growing in one of their key markets and after all the shenanigans they pulled about the alliance transition?

Can't really say without seeing the terms of the lease. In the airline business, where flexibility is key, if I were seeking a long-term commercial lease on terminal/gate space, I would definitely want to bargain for as much flexibility as possible. I wouldn't want to allow my competitor (despite that competitor being the lessor) to essentially dictate the terms of how I could operate my business. I know that bargaining is a two-way street, but I suspect the particulars of the airline business make commercial leasing a bit of a different beast in that particular industry.

Krogers', Whole Foods', etc.'s, business models aren't generally tied down to any single storefront, even if they happen to be the "anchor" lessee there. An airline lives or dies by its relatively small number of hubs and focus-cities.

Granted, this is all speculation on my part. I'd actually enjoy reading over such a lease, just to see how the folks in the industry do a CYA.

Doesn't look like anyone's showing it on TV, but I'll have the ESPN gamecast running on my computer...

Ah...hence the 12 in sbm12. Happy Birthday! :-:

(I wasn't born on the 25th - this was my username for email/everything else in grad school #1, so it became a handle for a variety of sites I joined during that time.)

The chart yesterday had EWR-AMS for $400 each way and EWR to two other European cities (can't remember exactly which ones; FRA may have been one) for $450 each way. Now, the lowest fare is $550 one-way (EWR-TXL).
