The citizens of PHL and PEK will not be waived off any longer. DOT denies US's request to delay service.

Oh, AMEX called to check up and verify my charges. They read off the mint charges for $2,500 and $5,000 and a Wal-Mart charge for $12. I told them everything is ok and the charges were mine.

That is interesting - were both segments from the same fare bucket? Any (major) special events planned at the destination? Any disadvantageous aircraft types for upgrades?
Essentially it's TPA-IAH-SNA. Anything involving SNA never clears and is usually full a week or so out. Coming from SNA also causes the IAH-TPA portion to be booked solid, but going the other way, TPA-IAH is usually wide open. I cleared as silver at EUA and there's still 3 seats left. As for aircraft, they occasionally swap in a 752, but otherwise it's 737 700/800's with me chanting "no whammy, no whammy" as far as having any sort of IFE is concerned. I think looking at how far out they sell out and the number of standby pax etc... that SNA-IAH-SNA is full of rev pax FF's while TPA-IAH-TPA is full of non-rev using their freebies to a Florida as a leisure destination. |

Now I'll get the choice between netbook, book, Sudoku book, writing ...

The fun of this Holiday Inn Express just grows. Now the AC in my room is barely functioning. For some reason it switched over to heat on its own and wouldn't switch off heat while I was out to dinner with my parents earlier. I've now managed to get it back blowing cold air, but it doesn't blow very much, so it is taking a long time to get the room comfortable again. We're slowly making progress though; over the last three hours the temperature has dropped from 79 to 74.
I can't wait for Holiday Inn to e-mail me their guest satisfaction survey next week on this one. I really do try to be open minded with them and give them a chance, but it seems like that chain still suffers from a serious lack of attention to minor details and consistency. I don't expect a hotel of this class in a smaller place like this to be perfect, but come on, is a properly functioning air conditioner and a little bleach to kill any signs of mold or mildew in the bathroom before it gets out of control too much to ask? |

Actually, DoT says that it's too early to request another waiver. If I were an administrator with the DoT, I would be asking where are the multiple aircraft to fly this route ...

Don't think so, but I knew from previous posts that you grew up in the same suburb I did (albeit much later). I'm pretty sure CO 1E grew up in the same place as I did at more or less the same time; one of these days I will meet him and find out for sure.

Yes, just off the main lobby at Nugget. |

AMEX decided to decline the $136 delivery fee once we got everything assembled at the delivery area. Their logic never ceases to amaze me. |
