Steve GadFly and belynch could round out that foursome quite nicely.
I'm picturing ConciergeMike sitting on the back of a horse rearing up on its hind legs as he lifts his sword towards the heavens and proclaims that "Wherever a troll shows his face, we'll be there!" |

Yeah, I am kicking myself for not snagging these!
The Y segment will credit 125% to BD, everything else will be 325% ^ And can you help me understand: Will these miles also be RDMs as well as EQMs? I just played around with bmi website and did a phantom booking MAN-EWR. It was on bmi metal to LHR, then UA LHR-IAD-EWR and there was a notation that it would earn 600 destination miles????? Does that mean that there would be no RDMs earned on the UA flight sectors? |

Yeah, the NW DC-9. That's why we couldn't go to a gate, and why the local ground crew had such drama dealing with us. On the other hand, we got out of there faster because we didn't go to a gate.

In related news, I am doing a duet with travelocity gnome next weekend outside of Expedia HQ. In? Please accept my humble apologies for casting any negativity to your character. :D |

Did you get to experience the tugless pushback?
I haven't been on a NW DC-9 that powered back since late 2005. They stopped doing it around that time to save fuel. It was always a lot of fun though, and awesome to watch from inside the terminal, especially at the ends of the A concourse at DTW when the 9's were all leaving around the same time. |
Time for bed, said Zebedee.
Goodnight, Box. Sleep tight, Make sure the bedbugs don't bite If they do Squeeze 'em tight Then the won't come back another night :D:D |

Nope. We were parked at a hard stand that we could pull in and out of without a tug or pushback.

This was also one of the few NW DC-9s that still has the airstairs installed and operable. They were disabled and removed from most of the =9s when they refurbished them in the late 1990s, but they kept the stairs on a few to service some of the airports that had limited ground services and no jetway.
Aircraft was built in 1969. Not the oldest I've been on in recent years, but certainly not young. |
Just realized, as I was about to sign off, that we only need 22 posts to 93,000. Are those of us still awake at this hour going to indulge in a little mini PWP to get to 93K or are we leaving it up to the folks who are early risers?

I really got nervous the first time I experienced a powerback. I really had no clue that the thrust were in use and braced for impact with the terminal.
