Another week of  weekend specials from EWR. PBI would be good, but I am already going down there next week.

Hopefully UA has something good...

I haven't bothered to look up the answer in Texas, but have always wondered whether a company's statement that "this call may be recorded or monitored to improve customer assistance" would grant me the reciprocal right to record the conversation without making my own disclosure.

In theory, it does.

A lot of companies have a line in their T+C's that says you can't record calls.

I'd like to do this to Chase.

I'm in for a mini-do to learn about BD. Who's going to organize it? I nominate jrzyshawn! :D:D

I spent all morning reading the stickies and am trying to decide whether I should do a status match, and credit the MSP-GEG flight I have in January. Or, credit that to CO to kick start my run for Plat again on CO.

Decisions! Decisions!

And last week gave existing diamonds a free night to be used at any Hyatt Place or Summerfield Suites (already used mine); Hyatt is a good friend.

If it doesn't meet the rules to be slaughtered correctly, it's unfit for humans to eat. Open and shut case, IMO.

You'll know that you're screwed when they start giving specials to GUM.

Speaking of CLE, I was shocked to read (on a.net) that they are down to 29 CO mainline flights a day. Is this really true? If it is, how can CO even claim this as a hub (or a hublet)?

Two points:

1. When did a.net become a reliable source of information? ;)

2. 29 mainline flights a day is indeed sad, but it pales in comparison to the hundreds of ERJ/Q2/Q4 flights per day.

IANAL, but you need a live claim to take something to court. Courts don't give advisory opinions, and they don't mind sanctioning litigants who intentionally bring moot actions.

However, it may be that your experience with Chase gives rise to claims that you may not have considered (statutory or common-law). It sounds like you may have expended a considerable amount of time and effort in attempting to resolve these issues, due to their own malfeasance.

If it were me, I would try to consider what causes of action I might have, and what damages, if any, I had suffered. Did you use cell-phone minutes to rectify this situation, did resolution of this necessitate that you spend time that otherwise would have been spent working, did you suffer the loss of use (even if temporary) of any assets as a result? Those are the sorts of questions I would be asking, in addition to consulting your state's deceptive trade practices (and/or banking/credit practices) legislation...

Be sure to check any laws applicable to recording phone conversations before doing so. From what I understand, the law in this area is a confused mess, and it can be quite easy to run afoul of it. Just ask Linda Tripp.

Mr. Gambini, that is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.....Overruled! :p

Sounds like the Mini has similar properties to The Tardus.

I don't know if I'll PWP this year. I totally can't make the trip and would hate to win something like that but give it up.:-:

1. Who said anything about it being a reliable source? I asked if the information was correct.

2. A boat load of RJs hardly qualifies an airport as a hub, IMO.
