This may get really interesting... We've already got a few ticked off passengers, and the crew is not happy with their new parent company's handling of the situation so far.

I'm looking outside right now in Downtown, and things look rather bleak on all horizons (though, oddly, downtown is calm). I wouldn't expect to arrive in Houston anytime soon.

ETA - The sky is a nice mix of green and black up on the North side. :-:

Welcome to AUS, although not the right circumstance. :td:

NW ground crew guy who fueled our plane (and looks like he's 15) to our flight crew -- "Since DL took over we don't get any NW mainline here. There's nobody here who is trained to park a DC-9. They told us we can't put you at a gate under any circumstances. They only let us handle the RJs."

Meanwhile, a DL MD-88 just got to pull up to a gate.

DL hate factor growing.

I don't really care about getting off the plane, but air conditioning at the gate would be really nice.

Tell them to contact the AA folks; they do Mad Dogs almost exclusively.

It's got to be bad if you'd rather be on a DL Mad-Dog.

Worst. Mainline. Planes. Evah.

Tell them that the real name of a MD-88 is DC-9-88. Problem solved.

I don't think that information would help this ground crew.

Heh, I never thought of that. Not a bad idea.

Oh no. DL's MD-88s aren't bad at all in the exit row. They certainly beat Y on the MD-90 or DL's 752s.

Let's just say our water ran out somewhere around Louisville, we have a guy on here with severe digestive issues, I'm in 1C, and the F lav (where Mr. Too Much Kung Pao Chicken For Lunch keeps going to "evacuate") is about 3 feet away.

Oh, and we have no ground air connection, also thanks to The World's Largest Airline.

It's a blast.

Steph3n Sep 28, 2009 6:31 pm

Scott,

I can't make that flight on 10/24 to LGA at 10:25, it is too early for me, 6:00am leave from GRK and I am a good 2 hours away...

stupid saturday frequency reduction.

ssullivan Sep 28, 2009 6:31 pm

Damn. This guy is in the lav again!

Flight attendant offered him some medicine. He said nothing was wrong. Wait--this is normal for this guy???

I'm about to deploy an O2 mask so I don't suffocate.

Oh, and DL "can't get us water."

I really needed to use the lav so I made the trek to the back of the plane. Not nearly as noxious back there. At least up here in F the main cabin door is open, so we're getting some ventilation.

Anglo Large Clawed Otter Sep 28, 2009 6:32 pm

I've only done DL Mad-Dogs in F, and there's not a good F seat on that plane. I probably should have tried to switch with someone in the exit row (after having a few free drinks, first).

Sorry to hear of your . On the bright side, I hear the compensation package can be pretty good if a river of feces runs down the aisle of your flight. :-:

I feel bad for the both of you.

I have a touch of food poisoning, and I am ready to die.

Evening Box. Was waiting for someone at IAD. Saw a bag fall out onto tarmac where it stayed for over 20 minutes and multiple drivers passing by it without giving it a look. Guess someone's bag will arrive late.
