But will US actually get planes and put the route into operation, or just walk away from it? I cannot imagine that they're going to have a chance of making any money on that route right now. Of course, in the long term it would probably decrease their chances of getting another authority in the future if they walk away from it now.

G'morning, Box. I was talking to my mom last night briefly. Apparently the night before I was born she insisted that my father go buy a new camera because theirs was broken. So it seems that my photography affinity was prenatal. Go figure. Another Wednesday, and another year older. Yippee.

Happy bday ^

Cool! I guess this shouldn't be that surprising, given that we have more than the average number of metro-CLE people on this board. :) Where did you go to school (CCIS/public/other?)

I went to public school. Some may have called it "other".

They almost certainly won't buy the A340s they need to run that route. They might try it with a weight-restricted A332, though that's a recipe for lots of fuel stops in ANC. They might walk away; on the other hand, the airline that they had competed with for that route authority doesn't exist anymore.

ETA: happy birthday. Apparently my reading comprehension is poor before I've had my coffee.

I had also forgotten about Holiday Inn's tacky plastic sign in the bathroom advertising the towels, sheets, pillows, irons, hangers, and other items for sale. It essentially says these items are so popular they now will sell them to you, and if you steal any of it, rather than buying it from the "Executive Housekeeper," you're agreeing to paying the prices listed on the sign. It's the ultimate in tacky snarkiness, and something I've only seen at Holiday Inn branded properties.

Borgata does that too. AAA Four Diamond hotel/casino/spa. Tacky snark knows no limits.

Don't care! :D It could be #1 and it would still smell like dog vomit to me! :D

The food may not be cute but you did get in a daily poop reference! :)

Oh that really sucks. That flight was daily long before the SkyTeam days. I wouldn't be surprised to see it return as a year-round daily at some point in the future though, provided the economy recovers some and CO eventually gets those 787s.

Well, after more research it appears that it just is no longer daily, not seasonal.

Since they are using a 764 on the route, I wonder what happens when EWR-ATH comes back.
